seven vices case 7 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Cause of Death - Appears to be drowning

Body Discovery - Approximately 6:30AM

Condition of Body - Body covered in severe burns and blisters, shoeless.

Condition of Scene - Victim found in the pool, tied to Gilbert Nightray and weighted down. Pool light shattered, mannequin floating in the water.

Cause of Death - Appears to be decapitation

Body Discovery - Approximately 6:30AM

Time of Death - Estimated between 4:00AM and 6:00AM

Condition of Body - Decapitated, head found in record store. Head and neck severely bruised and beaten, teeth missing and found in various locations. Right hand cut off, found in lobby.

Condition of Scene - Victim found in the pool, tied to Alisha Diphda and weighted down. Pool light shattered, mannequin floating in the water.

10PM: shared some kusamochi with Alisha, Roxy, and Faize. The four of us went to sleep after that

Spent most of the day with Stormfly training.
Around 7PM: Had dinner outside with Stormfly, Roxy came by to chat. We spent about two hours talking, during which she broke out some charts while trying to explain ecto [ this word is broken up and seems more tentative than everything else ] biology. We were talking about our families originally. After a while, I asked her to stop trying to explain and she said she was going to be late for a meet-up with Alisha and Faize and Hinata if she didn't leave anyway.
9PM: It was nine when I got back to my room, with Stormfly. Took a shower, went to bed.
Around 6AM: Woke up to do sit-ups and stretches like usual. Couldn't get the lightswitch to work after flipping it for a while, so went to see if I could find someone to fix it, but realized it was probably something serious when it wasn't just my room. Met up with Urashima and Lithiuania in the lobby, found a tooth.

[ have rhys' neat print as he tries to remember what the hell he did thursday. ]

3 PM - 5 PM: Took a walk around town with Dumpy. Dumpy got excited about something while we were walking and ran into a lamppost. He fell in the snow so I had to take him back to my room and dry him out.
5:30 - 7 PM: Went downstairs to grab some extra towels from the laundry room for Dumpy and dinner. Ran into Gilbert and Break, had dinner with them. Forgot about Dumpy.
7:15ish: Remembered Dumpy was waiting for me. Went back upstairs, finished drying him. Gathered up my bedding (and Dumpy) to go down the hall to Break and Gilbert's room.
7:30 - ???: Stayed with Gilbert and Break for the rest of the night. Locked Dumpy in the bathroom because he wouldn't stop screaming. Hung out with them until we went to bed.
10 PM???: Went to bed.
5:30 AM???: Woke up because Gilbert was up and getting ready for the day. Asked him to make me pancakes. Went back to sleep.
7:20 AM: Woke up finally. Asked Break where Gilbert was. Figured he was downstairs in the kitchen and/or finding a body. Decided to go look for him.
7:45 AM: Found Gilbert's head.

[Unlike her alibi during Vegeta's week, Undyne's is short and to the point this time around. Looks like someone's actually pretty ticked off about the murder this week.]


7PM - 8:30PM: Made dinner with Papyrus, grabbed snacks for the night.
8:30PM - 9:30PM: Dragged Papyrus back to our room, hung out.
9:30PM: Grabbed Clover from her room, dragged back to ours.
10:30PM: Kicked down Sans' door when he hadn't shown up yet, dragged back to ours.
11PM - 5AM: Slept.
5AM - 6?AM: Woke up, did training in room, was about to head down to breakfast with Papyrus when we realized the power was off.

Exhibit B - Pool/All Three Body Findings + Chains+ Observations

The cut made that was instrumental in having Gilbert's head removed, happened to be half-way clean. The rest was jagged.

Three chains were used to wrap the two bodies together and weigh them down. The third chain acted as an anchor, and all of them were heavy enough to keep the bodies underwater.

The letters 'RI' were found written in blood, found on the pool wall next to where Gilbert's body was found.

The mannequin found was running with electricity.

Only one of the pool lights were broken and shattered.

Behind a discrete folding screen, in the room behind the altar, Alisha's and Gilbert's bodies have been laid out on two simple white tables. Their bodies are covered with white sheets, but the sheets can be removed. Other than the position and the sheet (and replacing Gilbert's head and hand), the bodies have not been changed from how they were found.

Near the bodies are four black and white photographs of the scene as it was when the body discovery chimes rang yesterday morning. The photographs are close ups - they portray Alisha's and Gilbert's bodies, but no more of the scene than is necessary to do so. Still, if you want to check their positions, it makes it fairly easy.

[Gotta look at the bodies! How does Gilbert's decapitation look? Clean, as if it was done in one blow with something sharp, a bit ragged, like something sharp was used but it took more than one try, or more ragged than that? Lithuania is pretty familiar with decapitations. How does the severing of the hand look, as well?]

[Hinata... looks uncomfortable to see his picture up there for the first time, but not wholly surprised. He'd kind of been expecting this since Alisha's body was found.

He inhales a deep breath through his nose and squares his shoulders.]

If, um... if anyone wants to talk about my alibi, I don't mind.

Since I was the one who found the bodies at the pool, I guess I'll start us off. There was a blackout early in the morning [ at ass o'clock ] so I went out to check and see what happened. In the lobby there was blood splatters, along with a hand which pointed towards the vents.

After that, I went into the pool, where I found the bodies of Alisha and Gilbert tied together with the chains sunk at the bottom of the pool. Gilbert was the one with the decapitated head and hand, it seems. Dhaos was the one who investigated the bodies, so you'll have to ask him about that.

When Faize and Hinata showed up, that's when the lights turned back on and we found another body at the back of the pool, except it was just a mannequin. There were also the letters R and I written in blood in that area, as well.

[ Unsurprisingly, it doesn't seem like Break slept at all last night, since the dark circles under his eyes seem even darker today, but he also doesn't waste time here. He knows a useful detail for figuring out the order of events here, so he'll get right to it. ]

At least for the sake of getting our timing right, I can at least elaborate to say that Gilbert and presumably Alisha both died after five in the morning or so. Gilbert and I wake up early anyways, and he had been with Rhys and I the entire night prior. He left to start a breakfast, and he was going to return once it was done, as usual.

[ They had assumed that a murder had already taken place, honestly... ]

I can't give an exact time for obvious reasons, but it definitely didn't take place before 5AM.

[Faize nods. Like Break, he doesn't look as though he slept much last night either and he speaks in a voice that's even more detached and impartial than usual.]

Alisha left Hajime's room somewhere around four thirty. So you are definitely correct with that assertion.

[ Sadie just sighs. Once again a suspect. ]

[ WHAT A PAIN???? Astrid crosses her arms, fuming. Better get started on an alibi and such, she supposes...after fuming a minute or two, she will...go and put that down. Ask her about it or whatever, she guesses. ]

[ hi have a rhys -- and dumpy! dumpy aggressively followed rhys to the church and rhys is... looking pretty miserable so there was no way he was going to deny his little buddy the chance to tag along.

but as rhys offers himself up for question after putting down his alibi, there's gonna be a interruption. ]

Hey, you can -- [ there's a sudden screech of despair that sounds a lot like a garbled noooo from dumpy. rhys just looks wide eyed at the robot before shoving a hand in his face. ] You can ask me stuff, I guess. I didn't kill anyone but, hah, like anyone's gonna believe that...

[ have the most miserable cloud of doom that is rhys the company man. ]

[ Break shrugs, but this is less an attempt to console Rhys and more for everyone else's benefit. ]

Even though you went back to sleep, I certainly didn't. So I believe you, if only because of that.

ROOM SEARCHES

[ Dhaos' face was completely straight and composed until he got to Rhys' door. Then, there may have been an evil smirk of sorts. But hey.

He opens the door carefully and properly, before coming straight into the room. What he always does is, of course, check out the beds thoroughly. He will flip them, make sure to take off the covers and everything. Nothing is sacred.

Does he actually think the human did it. Probably not. ]

The pool is off-limits until six in the morning. No one seems to have broken that rule, so that means all the set-up at the pool had to take place before and/or after that, right? [Not all the other stuff, of course...]

This seems like it was another case of being very much planned.

Yet, I cannot fathom just one person being responsible for all of this.

Winter coat-thing

[ Let us say Dhaos nabbed a winter coat that was the exact same size as the one that was in the evidence. ]

Every suspect should come forward and put this upon themselves. I need to see who would be a perfect fit for the blood-stained winter coat.

[Hinata steps forward because listen. When it comes to testing hard evidence against his apparent suspect-ness, he has nothing to hide.]

Sure, okay. I don't know if a perfect fit is necessary, though... I mean, if it's a little too big, it would still be fine to cover someone, right?

[Still going to try to put on the coat. Is it too big? Too small? He's 5'10" with an almost 36 inch chest, he's surprisingly broad-chested.]

One. Who was definitely with three other people but one managed to get out of the room with no one realizing so... [He also seems to be the one most broken up about his folder. But Poland's not saying that.]

One. Who. Has no actual alibi. [But. I mean. Come ooooon.]

Annnnnd. Another one who. Has no actual alibi. And. Has a name that matches up with two letters found at the crime scene. [Who is a buff viking. Probably could decapitate a dude but... why. Why?]

[ Eventually, the clock strikes 6PM. Metaphorically, because it's way too small to have a clock in here.

Everyone is allowed to wrap up their conversations, but all evidence must be left inside the chapel. After all have exited, Miata locks the doors behind her and starts the walk back to the hotel. ]

[ Inaba isn't getting any sleep tonight, that's for sure. She's in the lobby with puffy red eyes that make her look like a rabbit. And all she's doing is just deadeyeing her notebook, reading her own ciphers over and over again as if they would do something.

In fact, she looks like... a statue.... unmoving, her expression empty and unchanging.

But she's not even a suspect, how strange. ]
