week 7 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |

[ i guess cutting off undyne's head as a point of pride makes more sense to her than cutting off gilbert's ]
Neither Undyne or I thought of Gilbert as any sort of opponent, unless I'm missing something here.

[ rhys just shrugs then, feeling more jittery as he goes on. this is... not his favorite thing to think about, no. ]
I think -- [ he's counting off on his fingers here. ] Alisha was first and the intentional victim. Gilbert was second and unintentional. This made the murders rushed and while Alisha was planned out, Gilbert was a heat of the moment murder. [ then he drops his hand. ] I'm still trying to figure it out from there. Gilbert was beaten so roughly and all over that I really can't figure out where exactly everything happened for him but I do... have a feeling that it was a chase and that the chase ended at the record store.

[ Still, it...makes sense. She's frowning, now. ]
But would it be a chase to the record store entirely? Like, where was all the blood? If he lost a hand back at the hotel, there'd have to be some kind of trail - was there?

Ah, one sec. Just... double checking.
[ he made some notes, okay!! ]
There was a trail of blood leading from the hotel, to the general store, and then to clothing store and record store. It sort of branched off to both places after the general store. The record store was covered in blood but the clothing store just had the bloody coat.

Okay, so - we're probably right about Alisha being first, Gilbert hearing something and checking it out, and a wild chase through the dark after that? [ She hadn't done any investigating because Lucy fell asleep so ] And if it's just the coat that was bloody, it's less likely that the taller people did it, right? If the record store was covered in blood, you'd think the person who did this would be, too. And not just to the exact fitted specifications of the coat.
