week 7 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |

At least for the sake of getting our timing right, I can at least elaborate to say that Gilbert and presumably Alisha both died after five in the morning or so. Gilbert and I wake up early anyways, and he had been with Rhys and I the entire night prior. He left to start a breakfast, and he was going to return once it was done, as usual.
[ They had assumed that a murder had already taken place, honestly... ]
I can't give an exact time for obvious reasons, but it definitely didn't take place before 5AM.

Alisha left Hajime's room somewhere around four thirty. So you are definitely correct with that assertion.

I'd say that knowing the two of them, the mannequin was used to lure them there, by the way. If they thought someone was in the pool, they'd naturally go to investigate and help.
[ Break's brow knits together slightly at that, but he just sighs and continues. ]
It's their kindness at work, I suppose.

[Because she is good and kind and pure and perfect AND DID NOT DESERVE WHATEVER THIS ASSHOLE DID TO HER.]

[ He doesn't say any more about the fact that it netted the two good beans, since he honestly would rather not think about it. ]

[ SQUINTS. She's still not sure about this whole electricity deal, tbh. Portable lightning is her understanding. ]

[ Probably?? Don't ask him, he's just a cat. ]

[ BY TRYING TO APPEASE THE THUNDER GOD BY...BUILDING GIANT METAL STATUES??????? SO LIGHTNING WOULD STOP BEING A THING????????
this plan failed hard ]

It's possible that Gilbert may have come to help Alisha too, considering he wasn't burnt, correct? He may have been attempting to assist her, but ran into our killer.

[ So, it makes sense unless the killer is missing teeth. ]
Which means the fight might have taken place in there or even moving around - but why the Hel did they cut off his head and dump it in an entirely different place? His murder seems way more...
[ vague hand gestures she then realizes WON'T HELP THE BLIND GUY ]
...brutal?

As unfortunate as it is to think about, he could have been trying to run away. That would explain why the scene is so... wide.
[ Break smiles, but it's definitely a pained one. ]
For his head, I can't guess at that yet, I'm afraid. My immediate guess is to say simply as a mockery, because setting the head on that spinning thing is more than simply brutal.

[ lithuania tried to explain records to astrid but all she got from that was "there's music on them and it works...somehow" because honestly all this tech confuses the shit out of her ]
no subject
[ He shrugs, since he's not going to mention that it was also playing music. He'll just get angry... ]
It works by spinning a disc around, and he was set there.
no subject
[ ?????? WHY IS THE SPINNING REQUIRED? SQUINTS. ]
...But, o...kay. That's...a thing someone sure did.
[ She sounds highly dubious because what the fuck. ]
no subject
And now you see why I believe "mockery" is reason enough, yes? That detail changes things a bit rather than just setting it somewhere.
no subject
[ Why bother with the personal touches, otherwise? ]
no subject
So it would seem. But of our suspects, it's also difficult for me to imagine any of them having that sort of grudge against Gilbert.

[She grimaces.] I hate to say it, but we could be looking at two different killers again.
