week 7 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |

With that disclosed he goes to check out the TV and clock in case there's anything off about them.]

anyway, as for the bathroom, it's pretty normal. there's more wet towels on the floor of the bathroom and the bathtub seems to be rimmed with dirt. as in actual dirt, like maybe a certain robot fell into the snow and dirt and rhys had to clean him up type of dirt. in fact, there's one of those cut off sleeves from earlier hanging off the edge of the tub as the dirtiest piece of fabric. rhys probably used it to clean dumpy's little cracks.
other than that, there's the usual bathroom necessities. his toothbrush is missing since he hasn't slept there in two nights but otherwise, everything is there with normal usage. it just seems to fall in line with rhys' alibi.
and as for the tv and the clock, they're pretty normal too! except, well. they both have clear signs of being taken apart as far as rhys was able to manage and then put back together. rhys is an engineer though so it isn't a poor job at all and the clock is even working better than it was when rhys first got it, but it's definitely less dusty around the edges than it would be if rhys hadn't taken it apart. there's nothing hidden inside either of them, just a symptom of rhys' paranoia and restlessness. ]

Not really, though.
Dhaos peers out of the bathroom. ]
What kind of device does it look like? Does it turn on?
[ Coming over. ]

...and someone should probably explain technology to these two.]
Maybe. It's like a long stick. [ He offers it to Dhaos if he wants to take it.]

but as for the stun baton, it's pretty simple! if either of them press the button set right in the middle of the handle, the metal rod will shoot out of the handle and extend completely.
then if they press it again, it lights up with electricity. be careful not to touch! it's... pretty powerful and will in fact hurt. a lot. ]

Dhaos reaches for it to take it. Then, he will press the button. And then out of curiosity press the button again. When it lights up with electricity it spooks him a little and he almost drops it. ]
......
[ He just hits the button again to try to turn it off. ]

So he does have a weapon.
no subject
Mm... that he does. It does not look like something to scoff at.
[ Although for him it would be. But it's a murder case and having weapons in rooms are always cause to look into in his opinion. Even if they weren't used, like in Lucy's case. ]

When I fought him weeks ago he had it on him. I didn't recognize it before because he never drew it on me then, but he had his hand on something on his belt. It was probably this.

Hnn...I see. Although the only issue with it being Rhys is we'd have to factor into where the blade comes in.
[ Because seriously, he wouldn't know how re: Rhys. ]
