week 7 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |

Listen, I know you're looking for any clue you can find here, and I commend you for it. You've done some good work investigating over the past few weeks, but...
I don't think this is connected to the trial. It would be better if you left it be.

Unfortunately, as much as I would like to not, we should be thorough in every sense of the word.
Whatever is in this letter could establish a good motive.
[ He'll make a quick movement towards the bathroom, READING THAT NOTE. ]

Also, seriously, Dhaos... do you really think you can outrun him? Or... even... get away... you have so much fluttery shit on you for him to grab as you flee...
HOW IS THIS A GOOD PLAN? Please hold as Ranulf jolts forward and tries to grab some part of Dhaos-be it his hair or his cape. ] Wait!

[ Dhaos is strangely silent as Ranulf does manage to grab a hold of his cape. However, that doesn't keep him from reading what's in the letter because he was focused and kept his eye on it the whole entire time. WHAT DOES IT SAY. ]

...with passion. It's immediately obvious from the first few sentences that this is an eloquently penned, beautifully composed, incredibly filthy love letter to someone named 'Alphys'. The first few paragraphs are all about Undyne confessing her feelings and being unable to hold her fiery burning passionate love back anymore, before it moves on to what she wants to do when she sees her again. There's a whole section dedicated to peeling off her labcoat to expose the golden scales underneath. The word 'hotbaby' is used at least six times. It is incredibly dirty.
I hope you're proud of yourself, Dhaos.]

He shakes his head, that is about the most obvious face of regret he's ever seen. ] If you waited, I was going to suggest we ask the previous search team if they saw the letter when they were here.
If they did, there wouldn't have been a point in reading it. [ This fuckin' guy. ]

...
[ Dhaos has an incredibly memory. He'll tape the note back shut once he finds some tape. ]
Regardless, that's all for now.
[ He puts the note back in the safe and elects not to write it in the notes. ]

[ And judging from Dhaos' reluctance to share the contents of the note, it had to have been embarrassing. That said, he's not mad or anything, he probably could have tugged Dhaos back or something instead of letting him read the note in its entirety. He's now a note reading accomplice.
The shame.
Sigh. ] But I think you're right. There's no place else to look.
