week 7 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |

...my apologies, Hajime. [Ugh, don't look at him like that. You make him feel bad for saying this...] I would love to, but I am rather tired and would prefer to be alone right now. I am certain that you and Roxy will be able to get along just fine without me.
[To his credit, he DOES look kind of exhausted. It's been a long day, yesterday was also a long day, and he did not sleep at all between the two of them. So really, it's been like one SUPER LONG day.]

Hinata sighs quietly through his nose, but doesn't look all that surprised at Faize's refusal. He gets wanting to be alone, he really does... and he does look tired. Who could blame him, after everything that has happened so far?
And for as much confidence as Faize has in him to know the right thing to say, Hinata's honestly not sure what that is right now. He doesn't want to try to force the other to be around people if he doesn't want to, but he doesn't want the Eldarian to cut himself off, either.]
...I understand. But... will you at least let me put together a plate for you to take back up with you? Or I could... just bring it up for you.

[Just let him cut himself off in peace though, okay? Just for the rest of the weekend, at least. Eventually, he'll want to be around people again. Probably. Hopefully. Once they find Alisha's killer, maybe he'll be able to start working towards acting like a normal person again. Or, well, as normal as Faize ever is at least.]
That will not be necessary. I have food in my room still. And truthfully, I am not particularly hungry at the moment...

[Hinata looks to him quietly, trying to read the Eldarian's face for some hint as to what he can do to help. It's not going to reveal anything, of course, so all he can really do is nod and reach out to gently touch the side of Faize's arm in what's almost a habitual gesture.]
Okay. Then... I'll see you in the morning, yeah? You know where I'll be if you need me before then.
[Either his room or Roxy's. Definitely Roxy's, if she agrees.]

[He's not going to come bother him though. He's not sure he ever wants to go to Hinata's room ever again, honestly. And Roxy's wouldn't be much better, because, sure RUB IT IN, WHY DON'T YOU??? HOW NICE THAT YOU STILL HAVE SOMEONE TO DO THAT WITH, HINATA.] Sleep well, Hajime.
