week 7 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 7 trial, day 1

saturday

At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying.

Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries.

The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells.

At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions.

That's correct. Unless that incapacitated him immediately, I would expect to see some kind of injury on the killer, but—

[ He shrugs dismissively, since they never find evidence on the killers, so he doesn't have much hope for it now. ]

But a baseball bat would do the trick, and so far as I know, it was never found.

Well, we can all strip to make sure, but I get the feeling whoever did this would have had a plan that didn't involve them getting injured. [Yeah she also sounds pretty dismissive because this has never helped in any case ever.]

It is pretty weird we haven't found it yet or any weapon at all. Something had to have been used to chop Gilbert's hand off, and if he was killed in the pool, I don't think there would have been enough time to wash it off and hide all the weapons and set everything up there and make it to the record store and back. Unless he was ambushed earlier in the lobby instead where all that blood was found and Alisha was killed completely separately from him.
crazily: (this is poetic)

If it was the bat, this would make a bit of sense. After all, whoever has it presumably has found a very good place to hide it, so they could simply return it to its hiding spot and not necessarily even need to worry about cleaning it up. We haven't found it yet, after all.

[ He shrugs ]

Otherwise, my only guess would be the chains themselves, since the water could have washed away the blood, but even then, I don't think that's the case. We would have seen traces in the water, I would imagine... At least considering the sheer amount of blood.

I'm pretty sure the chains would also leave an imprint on his face, especially considering how hard they had to have been swinging it to beat him that badly. But maybe they washed the knife they used in the pool, that probably wouldn't have left as much blood as the chains. And then...put it back in the kitchen? I still think setting all of this up would take longer than the half hour they had, especially since people are usually up and walking around the hotel by six AM.

[She pauses.] Well, I guess I could have done it with my spear, since I can make it disappear. Just putting that out there so no one can accuse me of hiding anything!
brawlhalla: (GESTURE ► you are an idiot.)

I got my axe for the second...gift thing [ which she has strapped to her back at all times now ] but I'd be able to have done a clean decapitation, not this half-hearted whatever we apparently got.

[ is it important that she could do it Right? no ]
