week 7 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 7 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. I'm not getting attached-- well, ok, I am, but that's not wrong to do? Being friends with people? But that's not the only reason that I know it wasn't Hajime, so don't go assumin' peeps are just bein' sentimental.

If you want to make friends here that's your call. Just be ready to kill those friends in these trials if it turns out they murdered someone.

[And really, people kill for so many reasons. She doesn't judge automatically.]

Alisha was in the other bed. I'll admit I fucked up there, I shoulda heard her leave but I didn't. And I'm gonna casually feel like shit about that forever. But it wouldn't take super hearing to notice someone physically leaving the bed, ok.

Only if you're a light sleeper. I've sneaked out of my house while sleeping near my caretaker plenty of times.

[She doesn't mention that she got caught all those times only after getting a few feet out though.]

I think I agree with Hinata. If you're not going to be useful then stop talking. I don't think I want to listen to a murderer try and preach to us about the rules of this game.

Alright, let me rephrase that. I don't think I want to listen to someone who let themselves get duped into playing this stupid game and then sacrificed someone else to live talk at all.

Did I say Hinata didn't do it because "I like him"? Comments like "let me vote for Rhys" and goading suspects, coming from someone who has no room to talk, aren't going to get anyone anywhere. I'm pretty sure everyone here knows by now the whole "oh look someone I cared about killed someone how foolish am I" song and dance from the past few murders.

[She doesn't give a shit what anyone thinks about her here. Morrigan deserves better than that, especially in death.]

Anyways, I didn't "get duped." I just saw the facts as they were and made the most logical choice. The person who killed Alisha and Gilbert did the same. We're all trying to survive.

It still happened and that's nothing you can escape or be forgiven for. And unfortunately it's gonna be a black mark on your record forever if you ask me.

Your comments aren't getting us any closer to figuring this out. Prove it was Rhys or Hinata if you're going to goad them or stop talking.

Even if I weren't a suspect, I'd have to agree. Talk like this just wastes time and distracts us from finding the true killer.

Just think about it. All the muscle and bone? I didn't see the head, but someone should probably check how clean the cut was or wasn't, I guess.

Well that depends how the head was taken off. [Though she appreciates judgment not based in emotion.] I wouldn't judge based on type though. I think all the suspects are perfectly nice people... Rhys aside. I'd rather see him die than anyone else on that list, killer or no.

Considering how beat up Gilbert was, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say there wasn't some fancy contraption for cutting off his head.

Unless the wounds were made before his head was cut off, which seems most likely.
