week 7 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |

[His eyes open almost immediately at the sound of her voice, and he just gives her a small nod and an attempt at a smile. It fails, but the attempt is there.]
It's okay, I wasn't asleep. I just... don't want to head back to my room just yet.

Did you get dinner yet?
no subject
He nods at her question, though. Unlike a certain Eldarian, he does still eat when he's upset! Usually.]
I wasn't that hungry, so I just had some toast... What about you?
no subject
...How are you holding up?
no subject
[The more important question, honestly. He has to get that out before Clover asks about him, and at that... he just exhales through his nose and leans his head back against the wall.]
I'm...
[Mm. He tries for another one of those smiles.]
I'm... alright. Once we find the true culprit... it'll be better. I'm just... worried about Faize.
no subject
[She isn't sure how much she believes that "alright" thing but sure, she'll play along.] Mm, yeah... We'll get it figured out. [Even though she's pretty superbly unhappy about that suspects list!!] Well, while you're worrying about Faize, I'll make sure you're being worried about, too. [She doesn't like Faize enough to worry about him as much as Hinata, whhhhoops.]

[He'd been much closer to Gilbert than he had Break, for... obvious reasons. Precious punching bag friend.
He glances toward her with a bit more of a genuinely grateful smile at that, though, nodding once.]
...Thanks, Clover. I'm... I'll be okay, though, really. I just... miss them, you know? Alisha and Gilbert both.
no subject
Anyway, I know you're gonna be okay, but for now, you're just stuck with me.

[he sounds a little surprised, but not terribly. That does seem like the kind of thing Alisha would do. For a moment, he smiles, probably picturing that as he rests his head back against the wall.
Then just tilts his head, turning that smile on her.]
There's worse people I could be stuck with, I think.
