seven vices case 5 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. On the table, the following has been laid out carefully next to the rulebook:

Autopsy Report - Cheshire

Cause of Death - Appears to be burns from gas explosion

Body Discovery - Approximately 5:00AM

Time of Death - Approximately 5:00AM

Condition of Body - Left side of body covered in third-degree burns, lesser burns elsewhere. Left side of body riddled heavily with shrapnel, lesser shrapnel coverage elsewhere.

Condition of Scene - Victim found laying in the kitchen along with Lucy Steel (unconscious and burned)

On the table next to the autopsy report, the information cards of all suspects have been laid out. Below the cards is a blank sheet of paper, labeled:

The rest of the table is empty. There are boxes labeled Exhibit A through Exhibit J, and pens and paper for writing.

Body

Behind a discrete folding screen, in the room behind the altar, Cheshire's body has been laid out on a simple white table. His body is covered with a white sheet, but the sheet can be removed. Other than the position and the sheet, the body has not been changed from how it was found.

Near the body is two black and white photographs of the scene as it was when the body discovery chimes rang yesterday morning. The photographs are close ups - they portray Cheshire's body, but no more of the scene than is necessary to do so. Still, if you want to check his position, it makes it fairly easy.

Well, since I am a suspect, I guess this is an ask me anything. I'll answer to the best of my ability, but bear in mind that I do have the right to remain silent when it comes to certain topics.

[Compared to how everyone last saw her Friday Lucy is looking a tad better. In that she is sitting upright on one of the pews at the back of the church. You didn't really expect her to be standing around, did you? She's covered in bandages and the rest of her is mottled with fresh bruises.

She's as curled up as she can be and still be comfortable. Yeah, her expression is anything but calm but she isn't crying. That's a relief for you all.]

[Clover's just gonna spend the whole trial pretty much glued to Lucy's side and looking like she's ready to fight absolutely everyone who gets too close, for given values of "fight" considering that she's small and pink and very very tired. But she's trying.]

( Urashima is pretty down, to be honest. Cheshire was one of his favorite people and they were pretty close! So he's pretty tired and fairly quiet while everyone gets their alibis posted and starts to talk about evidence and what not. Once he feels like it's a good time, he speaks up, )

Mr. Cheshire spends a lot of time in my room. He was actually with me the last night for a little while...

So Cheshire was envy and Lucy is sloth, Satori is also sloth, Himeko is wrath, so is Clover, and Bill is lust. [ Ugh. ]

Explosions don't seem like a sloth thing, so let's not vote for them.

Do we know who the last person to use the stove last night was? This set-up must have happened before 10PM, if the pool was used, and if someone used the stove without incident the night before, we might be able to narrow it down more.

[ Eventually, the clock strikes 6PM. Metaphorically, because it's way too small to have a clock in here.

Everyone is allowed to wrap up their conversations, but all evidence must be left inside the chapel. After all have exited, Miata locks the doors behind her and starts the walk back to the hotel. ]
