week 5 - day 1 trial
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? VOTING setting rulebook |

It isn't yours just because it was left in your room. If anything, it should go to the evidence pile.

It is if he left it here for me to find later! You might not like him but he's my friend! ( One of his best friends, even, and he'll grab onto Gilbert's sleeve and give it a hard tug, ) And it isn't just evidence it was something really important to him.
no subject
It has nothing to do with whether he was a friend of yours or not! [If Break was the one talking to Urashima that would be an entirely different story...]
None of that matters now, anyway. It's evidence first.
1/2
( He's not going to stop pulling at Gilbert's sleeve like give it to him. )
It matters! Everything matters!

If anything... ever happened to either of us... we were supposed to take care of each other still... but I couldn't... even get Mikazuki's sword before he died. I can't take him home to master or anyone... He trusted me and... I lost everything...!
( Still not letting go. )
I want to be someone my friends can trust so please, Mr. Gilbert...

But it's the mention of Mikazuki that gives him pause, because it takes him back to the last time he was in this room, back when he had looked through that journal and saw all those blotchy pages and that one single word - grief - like it was the sole definition of the second week.
It's not something just small enough to fall within the scope of this one single incident, then, is what he realizes here. And that's what makes him relent.]
...This bell shouldn't exist at all. [But he'll disappoint Break for the 1000th time by holding it out toward Urashima, balanced carefully in the center of his palm.]
But it protects something that belongs to a person Oz holds dear, so if you're going to watch it, make sure you watch it well.
no subject
I will. I promise, I'll take care of it. I promise.
( Ugh he's just going to keep crying as quietly as he can though, Gilbert. This means a lot to him. )
no subject
But it's okay, since Alice had already said she was willing to find new ways to retrieve her memories - or that she didn't even need to prioritize them at all, anymore. And if Alice said that, and Oz is all right with it, then Gilbert will let the bell go, too. Especially since he trusts Urashima to be kind and treat it well.
There's a second of hesitation and then he just. Awkwardly reaches out and pats Urashima's head before ruffling his hair. He'll let Urashima cry it out here!]

Once he's calmed down, he'll wipe his eyes and nod once as if trying to affirm something unspoken for himself.. )
... We should go back. ( His words are still shakey but he knows they can't stay here all day, ) I don't think... there's anything else here.
no subject
Are you ready? I'll drop this off with the evidence- [Flapping the paper in his free hand.] -and deliver the key.
no subject
Mhmm... ( Sniff, ) I'll put this in evidence too for now.
( But only for now! )
no subject
All right. I'll deal with Break - you just keep an eye on the bell.
[He'll defend Urashima's right to keep it... He won it fair and square by punching Gilbert in the heartstrings.
ANYWAY, leading the way on out!]
no subject
( That he'll have to deal with Break. Urashima's already resolved to fight Break too if he has to!!!
He'll also follow behind Gilbert... and after they're outside, he'll reach out to grab the end of Gilbert's sleeve and just follow him like that all the way back to the trial without a word. )
