week 5 - day 1 trial
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? VOTING setting rulebook |

Ranulf slowly closes the drawer because there's no feasible way that's relevant. If Hanyuu wants to check it more thoroughly later, she is free to do so! There's a drawer on the nightstand right? Might as well look at that while Hanyuu does things with tuna.

Again.That's... probably it. He can't think of anywhere else to look that isn't the bathroom so... Guess he's done! While he waits for Hanyuu to finish up he decides to go back into the safe to see some of those story plans. What's she writing about? Are there timestamps? DATES? Come on girl, date ur shit.
More importantly, are these storyboards plotting out A MURRRRDER?]

The gist of the story is as follows: Two sisters can't understand each other. They claim to love one another, but their viewpoints are fundamentally different, and they come to several irreconcilable arguments. One sister leaves. Their lives are less chaotic, less difficult, without the other. They come to know peace with their solitary lifestyles.
Did the sisters, then, ever truly love each other? The story ends without an answer.
The handwriting becomes more messy the longer the story goes on.]

For somebody to lock themselves away in their room and write stories like this one over and over again... He's guessing there's a point to it, but he won't try to read anything else around here. What he does instead is gently place the papers back in the safe then head over to the dresser.
He left a pen and paper here exactly for this purpose!
So he writes a sort of "review" for the story. In the same careful, yet occasionally messy print he writes:
"I know the point was to to keep it open-ended but, you know, I think there's only one way to interpret the story.
The question is if the sisters loved each other, right? Sure, they might have gone their separate ways but they were able to be open and honest with each other before that point. They didn't hide how they felt or pretend they had different values, that breed of honesty is something only people who care deeply for each other have.
I think they must have trusted and respected each other more than they could admit."
The way that last period is pressed into the page seems like that'll be the end of it. Then, he pauses.
He tacks on another line:
"And I think you left something out. The story might be over but that doesn't mean the sisters stopped thinking about each other. No matter how much distance there is between people, they never forget the ones who are most important to them.
Why not try ending the story with something like that?"
He jots down his name at the bottom and slips the paper into the safe, right on top of the story. He hopes Satori isn't too mad at him for peeking (and reviewing) but saying nothing didn't feel right. From here on out he will wait patiently for Hanyuu. No more snooping! ]
