week 8 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 8 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Cause of Death - Appears to be asphyxiation

Body Discovery - Approximately 10:30AM

Time of Death - Estimated between 10:10AM and 10:25AM

Condition of Body - Multiple ligature marks on neck, burned spots on hair and coat.

Condition of Scene - Victim found hanging on a tree branch near the lake.

Week 8

8 PM: Headed upstairs to room.
9:30 PM: Left room.
9:30 PM - 12AM: Spoke to Satori. Lingered a little to make sure she was asleep.
12:10AM: Returned to Room with Yoite and laid down.

Friday
8:00 AM: Rose (as in prepare to get ready for the day).
8:30 AM: Chatted with Yoite briefly.
9:00 AM: Took a shower.
9:30 AM: Started to clean up room.
10:00 AM: Headed downstairs to investigate after suspicious silence. Spoke with a few others.
10:10 AM-10:15AM: Went after Clover (and by extension Undyne). Lost sight of Clover. Began to look for Yoite ...and Clover.
10:20 AM-10:25 AM?: Met up with Buddy. Then Yoite wandered into the pool area moments later.
10:30 AM: Searched for Satori, and met up with her... found her in the hallway.
10:30-11AM: Suggested we take a look over town a little. Went with her towards the schoolhouse to see if there would be something to be found (unlikely) or if Urashima was there. Or... somewhere along the way.
12 PM: Did not find anything.
1 PM: Returned to hotel.

9 pm- Returned to room.
9:30pm- Slept.

Friday
12:30am to 10am- Woke up, did mathematics.
10 am- Went downstairs, left after a bit. Met Buddy and Dhaos in the pool area, returned to lobby. Heard death announcement, went back upstairs to sleep.

thursday:
8-9pm: talked w/ clover in the lobby for a bit until undyne came to get her
10pm: went to tell papyrus his bedtime story
10:30pm: papyrus decided to patrol the town since he's immune to protect the humans, went w/ him

friday:
4am: gave up because effort
9something i dunno, time: woke up, didn't see papyrus, went to go see if he was in the lobby. stayed there w/ undyne because she literally grabbed me
10:10am: realized papyrus was probably still somewhere in the hotel and went to check his room + the kitchen. caused mass panic with undyne&others. my bad.
between 15-30 minutes later? didn't check: came back w/o papyrus to find him in the lobby.

Thursday: Dhaos visited me until about midnight. I don't remember him leaving, so I must have fallen asleep.

Friday: Woke at 9:45 and went to the lobby. At 10:00 I went to the kitchen, and lingered in that general area for about half an hour. At 10:30 I met Dhaos, and

9 ish: went to bed with lithuania
9 more ish: brushed lithuania's hair it smells like rue and talked for a while
10 something: we talked more!
I fell asleep probably I can't remember.

Friday:

5:00 am: Lithuania woke up
5:03 am: Lithuania said i could go back to sleep but
5:05 am: okay so like five minutes of extra sleep
5:10 am: five more mintues becoz liet was in the shower
5:45 am: whoops
6:00 am: lithuania was done so it was my turn!!
6:32 am: lithuania yelled at me
6:48 am: still yelling
7:15 am: still yelling banging on the bathroom door like a psycho
7:33 am: finished my shower! liet has no patience.
7:34 am: got dressed in the outfit lithuania suggested i bring with me so i didn't have to go back to my room to get dressed and get distracted by pool manniquins
7:50 am: let siarka and maryla have my apples for breakfast
8:00 am: wanted breakfast
8:03 am: Lithuania wanted to wait though so I waited
8:07 am: tried to steal some of Lithuania's snacks
8:08 am: she hit me!!
8:30 am: made a paper fortune teller. told lithuania her fortune. it was that she was gonna make me breakfast.
8:31 am: she hit me!!!
9:04 am: did a hand stand on maryla
9:05 am: got yelled at for being too close to the window while doing it
9:06 am: Lithuania told me to sit in the middle of the room
9:15 am: it was so boring.
9:40 am: lithuania thought someone had to have been murdered by now so we left and went to the lobby
10:00 am: NO ONE WAS MURDERED -- it was really great. i was so proud. gilbert was probably proud too. ugh.
10:01 am: tried to eat some fruit but lithuania was being a jerk and wouldn't let me UGH
10:03 am: staged a lay down protest of lithuania trying to murder me
10:05 am: decided this is stupid and there is a tray of infinite donuts in my room that are completely safe to eat
10:07 am: ate donuts a donut like less than half of a donut then the television said someone was murdered and someone was knocking on my door so i went to open it and it was lithuania and she seemed kinda freaked out and then she grabbed me and picked me off the floor and i didn't mean to pull a gilbert please don't execute me i didn't do it!!

Exhibit A: around the lake

Found Clover near the boathouse. Hanyuu had gotten there first, and according to her testimony, Clover wasn't moving by the time she got there. There was a messed up patch of snow like someone might have shuffled around, or something might have been moved or rolled around or... something near her body, I'm not sure. I found some small footprints next to and underneath where her body was hanging, but I couldn't tell what kind of shoe it was. There was a broken jar of pink glitter a few feet away from her, in the snow.

I also found this weird medical tubing floating in the lake.

Bill and I checked the Clinic. It was a complete disaster with everything thrown around and gone through, but the only thing missing was medical tubing (which was apparently found in the lake?) We checked everything against the inventory list to be certain.

Found in the kitchen in two pieces. It was quite messily unwound.

Body

Behind a discrete folding screen, in the room behind the altar, Clover's body has been laid out on a simple white table. Her body is covered with a white sheet, but the sheet can be removed. Other than the position and the sheet, the body has not been changed from how it was found.

Near the body is two black and white photographs of the scene as it was when the body discovery chimes rang yesterday morning. The photographs are close ups - they portray Clover's body, but no more of the scene than is necessary to do so. Still, if you want to check her position, it makes it fairly easy.

[First things first. He traced the footprints back when he'd found them, so he's... going to carefully approach Clover's body without looking at her face. He doesn't think he can do that much just yet.

He is going to try to compare the drawing to her feet. Is it a possible match?]

You said you were walking around between the time you went missing and the time you came into the pool. Can you say where you went exactly?

...If it counts for anything, I saw Dhaos and Yoite come into the pool right around the time the body was announced to be found. Not together, but just one after the other.

Just like last week, the killer must have rushed this death. Neither of them looked like they were running around or disheveled. Yoite looked especially relaxed.

...Don't take this as me disagreeing with you just to disagree with you, but... keep in mind that Yoite's profile lists "above average speed" as a skill.

[ Eventually, the clock strikes 6PM. Metaphorically, because it's way too small to have a clock in here.

Everyone is allowed to wrap up their conversations, but all evidence must be left inside the chapel. After all have exited, Miata locks the doors behind her and starts the walk back to the hotel. ]

[ Today is definitely an eventful day. Except not really. As per usual, the teenage girl isn't heading straight to her room or anything; she's actually kind of worried, to be honest, and it shows.

While she does have the Miku AI - which, apparently is now A Thing - with her. And maybe you'd think that she'd be good for once. Maybe she'll be innocent, maybe she'll not... happen... to play... a song....

(Whether it actually translates or not, it is a mystery.)

It does sound like a very catchy song, though. One that the Miku on the laptop screen seems to be happy about. Investigate? ]
