week 8 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |
poland's room
Er, I mean investigating, yes. ]
I doubt homegirl Pols did it, what'cha think?
[ As the two... last blonde girls besides Poland? I THINK? unless we count dhaos enter Poland's room to find the clues! What disaster do they find. ]
no subject
Honestly? No. She didn't seem to care about her hostage, and she's not the retiring sort.
[ SO...it's probably someone else... ]
no subject
As the door opens, a torn piece of scrap paper floats from the door hinge to the floor of Poland's room.
Poland's room is-- actually. Not. So bad? I mean it's decently messy, but no where near as bad as it was when Astrid was here last. They can walk in the room without fearing for their lives at least.
So what will we be investigating first, team hot blonds?]
no subject
Yeah, she just jacked off to find food or somethin' I bet.
no subject
[ KINDA. Astrid will hit up the bathroom first this time, to poke around. what do her viking eyes see? ]
no subject
Astrid will find that the bathroom is not even sopping wet like last time either? Wow. There's some bubble bath bottles hanging out by the base of the tub, but nothing else seems out of place here.]
no subject
[ What a cute. Puts that back on the floor. Moves onto the beds and the bed area with all it's. Bedliness. Gently yanks apart the sheets, looks under/around, yatta yatta. ]
no subject
[ B...ETTER THAN BILL'S? ]
Also the bathroom was messier. Maybe she's just moved her mess to Lithuania's?
[ All right, if the bathroom is clear, she'll head over to the closet to sift through clothes and pockets and such. ]
no subject
The pockets are all filled with snacks. And what were formally snacks and are now wrappers.
Poland's bed isn't made at all and the other has all the sheets and blankets ripped off it. She'll find these in the corner of Poland's room in a pile.
Under the bed... are a pair of eyes glinting in the dark with a low growl.]
no subject
[ AH... LOVELY ]
A...strid, did you happen to bring some of Stormfly's chicken.
[ This. This is the dragon, right. Roxy assumes a beautiful pony would not fit under the bed. Maybe she'll just. Slowly leave the dragon there to check out the pile now. ]
no subject
[ Astrid turns from the closet, eyebrows raising. ]
I always have some of her feed on me...?
[ Oh, something under the bed? Sure. Astrid will just crouch down, reaching to her belt to pull some chicken from a bag. She likes dragons ok if this is a dragon she will distract herself from the search ]
no subject
She seems to be guarding something though. Maybe there's something else in Poland's room you can use to sway her.
Roxy has found Maryla's bed! It only smells very faintly of pony though. There's something under the blankets.]
no subject
[ Pony bed!! Yay, pony bed. What is under the pony bed...? Does the pony have a script of bee movie, too. ]
no subject
She'll raid the pockets of some clothes, and. Sure. A donut from the donut tray.
LET'S SEE IF THOSE TEMPT SIARKA MORE? ]
Come on, girl - let me see you. You're such a pretty thing.
no subject
Siarka... looks from the donut to the item she's guarding. But. She is a pretty thing! She's coming out and going for the donut awwww yeah.
Now that Siarka has left her post there is a pile of papers under the bed left for the taking.]
no subject
Ok, assuming there's no murder stuff in the dirty clothes Roxy will fix the pony bed back up and move onto the dresser while Astrid "dragon furry" Hofferson handles the dragon. ]
no subject
But then she is totally going to take those papers. WHAT'D SHE WIN? ]
no subject
In the last drawer of the dresser sits a singular dress. It's washed and ironed and folded absolutely immaculately-- although it looks like it was worn by someone much too big for it at one point.
It's like Poland used all her folding ability on this one dress and was never able to fold a piece of laundry ever again.
There is a little note written on the dress' tag that reads -- "Please be careful with me. I'm very important."
Siarka is so down for chin scritches. Aw. Yusss.
Astrid has won a lot of letters. A lot. So many. Some are addressed to people who's names she won't recognize; Hungary, Italy, Ukraine.
And then there are quite a few marked for Lithuania as well. In fact one is even open. How nosy are you?]

The open letter is a list. Or something like a list?
I like the way your hair smells like rue and when you let it out of that braid.
I like the way your eyebrows knit together when you're thinking really hard.
I like the way that you're so brave like a knight in shining armor.
I like the way you care about things so much it hurts your stomach.
I like the way you laugh, even if it's rare, that makes it more special to hear.
I like you so much I think I love you.
I just wish you loved me too.
In Lithuania's letters are more attempts at poetry in varying degrees of quality. It's not Poland's strong suit.
The letters to the other three detail what Poland's been up to. Asking how everyone is. One letter to Hungary dated in March seems incredibly distressed about missing something called Friendship Day. She promises to make it up to him somehow!]
no subject
A'right, what haven't we checked...
[ The safe? Did Astrid check the safe. If not Roxy will check it. ]
no subject
First and foremost there is a matching bra and panty set! The important thing to notice is that they are red and also they are apparently worth locking in a safe.
There is also a box with a small number of rings in it. In the event Poland could not get someone to take a ring or it belonged to a living person and she found it discarded around the hotel, she put it back in the box for round two.
There is a paper origami chest. When opened it's filled with so many sakura petals they actually pop out! Mixed into them is also a small amount of green glitter.
A small origami turtle is also in the safe. It's very well crafted and is even wearing a flower crown.
There is also a very nice sketch of a woman throwing something into the sea, a small jar of uncooked rice, and half a jar of pink glitter mixed together with paper confetti.]
