week 8 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |

[ He pauses, thinking about the apology, and relaxes a sigh. ]
... As long as you do not do something like that again. I had almost thought, for a moment that something had occurred. Which it had, but...
[ He'd rather die than admit it, but. He feels as if he could have done more, in Clover's case. Perhaps if he decided to take flight and look over in town he could have stopped it.
Hell if he hadn't been able to find Satori when he did, he would have been displeased, but he was concerned about her as well. At least they wound up safe... Satori, Yoite, Urashima, and Poland.
He rubs his temples a bit, and all he can do is just reiterate: ]
Just do not do such a thing again.

...I'm not used to it. [ If he's to be honest, which he feels like he can be with Dhaos.]
Yukimi never cared where I went. He always said as long as I came back, it was fine. [ A beat.] I'll come back. But I'll try to let you know next time.

I see.
Thank you for that, at least. Things are worrisome as they are now.
[ ... ]
That said, let's do our best for tomorrow. Even now, there are some things that haven't come up, it seems.

It's not as bad as when Takao died. [ Not only was it the first trial, but it was really upsetting for him personally. Not to mention the whole thing with Clover yelling at him.
...
He would be lying if he said he felt anything about her being dead.]
As long as it's not like last trial at the end.

[ Ugh what is being a suspect. He can't stand to be so inactive, and it's only until now he's been able to think of something. ]
Although, I think I may have a few ideas, I wonder if people would listen...
...
Do you mind discussing some things with me a little? It's still a little late, however, and unfortunately I hadn't gotten too much of a chance to weigh in.
[ And he is tired of sulking. The pain can be put on hold for a bit. ]

Okay. [ He takes a second to grab something to eat from the fridge then sits down, and nods at Dhaos to go ahead.]

But, he wasn't going to give up. ]
... Thank you.
[ He leans against the counter, and crosses his arms. ]
A good summary will be provided for tomorrow, hopefully. However, I think we have a few important things to get done and settle. For one thing, we're going to want to figure out when the matches were used. It has been bothering me for a little bit...
I'm surprised no one has talked about the marks around her neck either, with the bit of evidence coming in. I bet someone will tomorrow...seeing as it's easy to surmise the killer used one or two of those items to strangle her. I should hope we do not get distracted by anymore infantile subjects, but we do have people who love to entertain such things.
Those are just a few things. I also do think it's likely the killer covered their tracks, or attempted to at least, but couldn't do much about it due to running out of time.
[ And that's all he has for now. He hopes to bring a few of these things up tomorrow, or if someone else does. He resolves to say more tomorrow and if someone judges him for it, then... they would be very foolish, he thinks. ]

It's a bit like last weeks murder... [ He frowns upon saying that.] They had to rush, so they must have missed something.

[ BUT SINCE HE'S A SUSPECT...... ]
That said, you're correct. They disposed of that object in the lake, quickly and ...
[ He sighs. He expected people to ask others more questions, besides with himself and Yoite. This is not good in his opinion and utterly ridiculous. At least Hinata made quite an effort, and so did Roxy as well as Faize, for his mental notation. ]
We'll have to wait until tomorrow. In order to figure this out we'll have to look close at the evidence, I believe... and of course the events.
[ He then nods his head respectfully, taking the cup of tea. ]
...I believe it may be time to head back. If you would not mind accompanying myself, Yoite.

You should rest tonight.

[ He nods his head and begins to slowly move out of the kitchen. ]
Perhaps. It does seem like a good idea this time.
