week 1
![]() ♫ monday - thursday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by a calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. Curiously, anyone who has spoken with Miata for any period of time during the past week will notice that the voice coming from the television and her own do not match up. Come Tuesday, the footsteps around the void will begin drifting away from it. The pitter-patter of feet can be heard when standing outside the clinic and chapel as well. On top of the food that was added to the kitchen last week, spaghetti noodles and tomato sauce is now available. You're welcome, Papyrus. >Mingle? This is Week 1's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Investigations will go up on Friday. When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. Various
It's obvious from how he acts that he's a young spirit and he hasn't quite mastered the whole patience and self-control part of becoming a warrior but he knows one thing. When waiting for a maddeningly long time in an unbearable place, it's easier when you have someone with you. So even if his searches feel like years, he'll seek out as many people as he can right now. )
( When he finally makes it to breakfast and sees someone already there, he picks up his pace and hurries over to your side, )
Good morning! Did you already eat?
( And if you're a giant of a person compared to him, he'll grab onto your arms playfully and begin to pull you over towards breakfast. )
Hey! ( He'll wave as soon as he sees you passing by. ) What're you doing?
( To pass the time? To get by? Wandering out and about all on your own (don't you know it might be dangerous!)?
He'll hurry over and look around to see if he can drag anyone else into spending time together. Seeing no one (near enough), he'll frown at you, )
... Were you alone?
( Basically, someone sure is clingy this week. )
( Choose your own adventure because real talk, Urashima is clingy as heck this week. )
Wednesday various
Ah. [Good opener. Nailed it.] ...I have Laima with me, I suppose. What about you?
no subject
Sorry, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, Miss Lituania. ( As for her question! ) Hmm... no one, really! I was just looking around!
( For people to keep company. )

Isn't that why you're here? [ Taking advantage of the situation? Nah. ]

Do you honestly think I can trust you on your word?

I was-- am, yes? I thought about going for a walk.
[ Because sitting around in the hotel is finally making her antsy. Granted, she's far from being in the mood to murder, considering her track record of refusing to kill people who have even wanted her dead. ]
no subject
( He'll skip ahead of her, hands behind his back and grinning wide, )
Do you want me to come with you? Maybe we can play a game together outside too.
no subject
... But I'm afraid I don't know too many games.

Wednesday, various.
[Vegeta is outside, wearing his fighting gear and a coat, doing one-handed push ups in the snow and counting under his breath. At first he just ignores Urashima and his questions, focusing on the biting cold and his exercise, but when that takes what feels like several days he looks up at the sword.]
Yes, I was alone.
no subject
Were you training? How long did it take you to do all of those?
no subject
Of course I'm training, idiot. I'm not just going to laze about inside. This took [days, weeks, years-] twenty five minutes.
[His own way of keeping track of time. He knows more or less exactly how long it takes to do a hundred push ups. No matter how long it feels, that won't change.]
Before this I spent thirty minutes using my other hand... I've been outside for less than an hour... [God, it feels like he's been here for so much longer though. Half the reason he's actually saying this out loud is to remind himself.]
... Eight hunred and seventy-seven...

Tuesday Various
[Poland's sitting outside the hotel with Siarka! There's a bubbly looking mixture in a kitchen pot, along with what looks like some severely misshapen coat hangers from her closet.
She has a growing collection of very pretty frozen orbs sitting in the snow with her as she and Siarka wave their coat hangers around to make frozen bubbles.
Because you want to know how to pass the time when you've been trapped in a place you don't want to be for what feels like three billion-y years-- STUPID HOBBIES.]
no subject
Uwah! Did you make these? ( CAN HE TOUCH ONE? HE WANTS TO TOUCH ONE? But he won't without her permission. ) Is it magic?
no subject
Siarka seems to sense Poland's discomfort and crawls into her lap, eyeing Urashima cautiously.]
Soap bubbles... they like. Freeze and stuff when it's cold.

Thursday Various
[She pauses, then adds, just to make sure he gets the picture:]
...I was enjoying it.
[This may or may not be true, exactly, because she is bored out of her mind, but even with time slowed to a crawl, no people are still better than people, in Satori's opinion.]
no subject
Really? ( He sounds pretty incredulous, ) You're okay?
no subject
[Okay is the furthest thing from her current condition.]
You were the one looking for your turtle, right? Did you ever find it?
[She might not have talked to him while he was actually looking for Kamekichi but she heard him asking around. Turtles are very important.]

Kind of, yeah. And I wasn't doing anything. Just uh... people watching, I guess? [ he looks over to the window then, frowning slightly. ] Snow... watching...

That doesn't sound very fun.

Tuesday Morning
[Takao has just come back inside from his Morning Run and wow that was terrible it took a week like summer vacation before high school, when his middle school basketball team didn't have a training camp and he was just outside running in parallel with riverbanks all by himself. The worst, one out of five stars, would not recommend. He is perfectly happy to get tugged, fall into step with some other person for once, though it has an effect on his footwork. Man, is this how the taller boys on his team actually feel? Is this incredibly long morning how adults feel when they start needing coffee.]
No, I haven't. Is there anything new?
no subject
Heh heh...! Nothing to report! ( Well, he is a soldier in an army. Not that you can really tell when he's actually trying to show it off because it sounds like he's still playing around. ) Did you see anyone while you were running?
(no subject)
Wednesday, Morning
[Bill doesn't mind being tugged along after the smaller guy, laughing at his enthusiasm.]
You're an excited little creep aren't'cha?
no subject
( Really, Bill? Really??? He's a good spirit. )
I'm no cotton spirit.
( Because cotton spirits are actualy creepy. )
