week 7
![]() 24 players remaining ♫ monday - thursday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by Katerina's calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. After hearing the motive, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now a park and playground next to the clinic. >Mingle? This is Week 7's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Investigations will go up on Friday. When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. If you plan on having any private conversations between characters, remember to let us know in the post linked below. More plot elements will be introduced this week. Mod comments will be occasionally distributed to open toplevels, accordingly. setting rulebook profiles private conversations |

Oh— good morning. You're awake early again...
[Oh right, his nose is also bruised as shit because Undyne kicked him in the face yesterday morning. INCREDIBLE.]
1/2
( And he's pretty proud of himself because look... waking up early is a lot of work when you have the spirit of a spoiled child, okay. )
no subject
Ah! What happened!?
no subject
But before he can say anything, his NOSE IS POINTED OUT and he just looks embarrassed...]
Er... Undyne panicked and accidentally kicked me.
[Directly in the face.]
But it's fine. Do you want anything for breakfast? [Just MOVING RIGHT ALONG--]
no subject
Let me see.
( Some things are more important than breakfast. )
no subject
[But he doesn't want to worry Urashima, so he'll bend down a little so he can take a look... HIS BROKEASS NOSE, so bruised. He set it properly, at least, so it's not crooked or anything.]
no subject
Does it hurt?
no subject
Not anymore - not really. I was able to ice it in time to keep it from getting too badly swollen yesterday, so I'll only have to deal with the bruising now. It's really not that bad at all.
no subject
I'll tell Miss Undyne to be more careful.
( He's satisfied for now so he'll let Gilbert go free for now and actually answer that earlier question, )
Can Kamekichi have something too?
( She's sleeping on the kitchen table... )
no subject
I'll be more careful, too. It was partially my fault. [For raising the alarm on a day so close to Murder and all...
But!! He'll glance over in the direction of the turtle and then nod, heading toward the fridge.]
What sort of things does he eat? Strawberries?
1/2
Mhm! Strawberries are good!
no subject
Can I make you something too?
no subject
Anyway, looking a little surprised! He's mostly expecting a cup of tea or something though, so he'll nod.]
If you'd like to. Thanks. [A KIND TURTLE, THAT URASHIMA. He'll start to rummage around in the fridge after that, extracting the usual breakfast fare as well as a container of strawberries that he'll start to wash off.]
How has Kamekichi been doing?
no subject
Kamekichi's doing well. ( He says it very simply, like he's talking about the a very nice day, ) I think he's nervous. ( All she does is sleep... ) But it's a lot to get used to, here.
But it's nice to be together again.
no subject
[A glance over his shoulder and, ah-- Is he going to the coffee maker?? Urashima gets a little quizzical stare, but otherwise Gilbert continues to cook.]
...I'm glad the two of you are back together too, though. [A beat.] How have you been?
no subject
Ah... I'm good. ( This week's motive doesn't really bother too much (as curious as it was). ) Today is always a little stressful. ( If he's being honest. ) But everything will be okay...
no subject
But he'll nod! Yes, yes, OPTIMISM.]
The lack of tension last week was a nice break... People don't seem to be as tense this week either, though. Maybe it's because of the motive? [SO MANY PEOPLE SEEM UNBOTHERED.]
no subject
( Even if... you know, they still had to play body scavenger hunt and everything but Urashima also didn't find anything last week so? He got off pretty easy last week too in general. All of his good luck went into last week. )
And you're right, everyone seems to be okay this week too. ( He noticed how many people didn't seem to care about their secrets? Maybe it's because at this point in the game, they're just going to need more than some embarrassing secrets? And he'd been afraid to ask, really, because he has noticed how many people are handling this week but with Gilbert, whom he trusts, he thinks he can afford to open a little bit, ) ... Do you think everyone will be okay this week?
( That no one will die? )
no subject
But it was still a better week than most, though it's for exactly that reason that he pauses. Everyone seems okay this week, but he's not foolish enough to let his guard down because of that alone.]
...It would be nice to think that that's the case. Still, the motives are picked for a reason, aren't they? Someone might be tempted, so don't let your guard down, all right?
[Even if it would be nice to do just that, he can't stand the idea of Urashima ending up hurt, especially if it's because of something he's said - some misplaced piece of optimism.]
no subject
I know, I know. ( He'll be careful. He promised he'd take care of himself too, you know. ) You need to be careful too.
( And do you smell that, Gil.... it's coffee. )
no subject
[HE DOES SMELL IT... He's looking over his shoulder mid-flip, definitely curious now. He's making coffee? ...It's kind of surprising, actually. After Mikazuki, he wouldn't have been surprised if Urashima never wanted to touch a coffee maker ever.]
no subject
And now that the smell is in the air and he can't really surprised Gilbert anymore until it's finished, he explains, )
... Mr. Rhys taught me.
no subject
[A little bit surprised! Gilbert's a moron though, and still hasn't quite put together 1+1 here - that Urashima learned for him, and that he'd been waiting in the kitchen early for that express purpose.]
I didn't know you wanted to learn... [He could have taught you, Urashima!!]
no subject
Not everyone drinks tea, right? ( And he'll just sort of turn the empty mug over in his hands while he waits for the coffee to finish, ) ... You drink more coffee than tea.
no subject
...Oh!!
OH.
OH NO, now he's embarrassed?! He's touched! He's touched but he's also embarrassed! Urashima made the coffee for him? He learned how to make the coffee for him?? Rhys offered to teach him how to make coffee for him, Gilbert Nightray, drinker of too much caffeine?!
...Oh god, he hopes it wasn't because Urashima thought he didn't appreciate the tea. He doesn't think the orange pekoe wasn't good enough, does he? What if he does. Gilbert makes a strange sound, and now his cheeks are red to match his purple nose.]
You— for me? Was that... [BUT WHAT IF HE'S BEING PRESUMPTUOUS AND URASHIMA JUST FELT LIKE LEARNING?? But it's too late to take back those few words now! Why does he ruin everything?!
In his eternal internal panic, he doesn't notice he's left the bacon on one side for too long...]
