seven vices week 7 24 players remaining ♫ monday - thursday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by Katerina's calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. After hearing the motive, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now a park and playground next to the clinic. >Mingle? This is Week 7's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Investigations will go up on Friday. When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. Ah... I'm good. ( This week's motive doesn't really bother too much (as curious as it was). ) Today is always a little stressful. ( If he's being honest. ) But everything will be okay...

[Likewise, Gilbert was pretty unfussed over the motive - though they usually don't seem to bother him, honestly.

The lack of tension last week was a nice break... People don't seem to be as tense this week either, though. Maybe it's because of the motive? [SO MANY PEOPLE SEEM UNBOTHERED.]

( Even if... you know, they still had to play body scavenger hunt and everything but Urashima also didn't find anything last week so? He got off pretty easy last week too in general. All of his good luck went into last week. )

And you're right, everyone seems to be okay this week too. ( He noticed how many people didn't seem to care about their secrets? Maybe it's because at this point in the game, they're just going to need more than some embarrassing secrets? And he'd been afraid to ask, really, because he has noticed how many people are handling this week but with Gilbert, whom he trusts, he thinks he can afford to open a little bit, ) ... Do you think everyone will be okay this week?

( That no one will die? )

[Gilbert had to carry a drawer full of underwear and severed boobs down a flight of stairs, okay, he struggled. HE REALLY HAD A STRUGGLE...

But it was still a better week than most, though it's for exactly that reason that he pauses. Everyone seems okay this week, but he's not foolish enough to let his guard down because of that alone.]

...It would be nice to think that that's the case. Still, the motives are picked for a reason, aren't they? Someone might be tempted, so don't let your guard down, all right?

[Even if it would be nice to do just that, he can't stand the idea of Urashima ending up hurt, especially if it's because of something he's said - some misplaced piece of optimism.]

( Aaaaand he deflates. Which isn't so bad since he's just gone from optimistic to more realistic. )

I know, I know. ( He'll be careful. He promised he'd take care of himself too, you know. ) You need to be careful too.

( And do you smell that, Gil.... it's coffee. )

[HE DOES SMELL IT... He's looking over his shoulder mid-flip, definitely curious now. He's making coffee? ...It's kind of surprising, actually. After Mikazuki, he wouldn't have been surprised if Urashima never wanted to touch a coffee maker ever.]

( Well, that's definitely one of the reasons why it took him so long to learn. The coffee is still making but since the water is finished boiling on the kettle, he'll start to make himself a cup of tea. He's a mix of being nervous and excited right now. Look, he really has been learning really hard all week.

And now that the smell is in the air and he can't really surprised Gilbert anymore until it's finished, he explains, )

[A little bit surprised! Gilbert's a moron though, and still hasn't quite put together 1+1 here - that Urashima learned for him, and that he'd been waiting in the kitchen early for that express purpose.]

I didn't know you wanted to learn... [He could have taught you, Urashima!!]

Mhm! He even offered. ( He really did. Rhys sure is a nice guy. ) But I thought about it last week when I was trying the teas.

Not everyone drinks tea, right? ( And he'll just sort of turn the empty mug over in his hands while he waits for the coffee to finish, ) ... You drink more coffee than tea.

OH NO, now he's embarrassed?! He's touched! He's touched but he's also embarrassed! Urashima made the coffee for him? He learned how to make the coffee for him?? Rhys offered to teach him how to make coffee for him, Gilbert Nightray, drinker of too much caffeine?!

...Oh god, he hopes it wasn't because Urashima thought he didn't appreciate the tea. He doesn't think the orange pekoe wasn't good enough, does he? What if he does. Gilbert makes a strange sound, and now his cheeks are red to match his purple nose.]

You— for me? Was that... [BUT WHAT IF HE'S BEING PRESUMPTUOUS AND URASHIMA JUST FELT LIKE LEARNING?? But it's too late to take back those few words now! Why does he ruin everything?!

In his eternal internal panic, he doesn't notice he's left the bacon on one side for too long...]

( He stops turning the cup in his hands and just sort of waits for Gilbert to put the things together. It's a little quiet, a tiny bit awkward, even, but once it's apparent that Gilbert's put it all together, he just nods his head once "yes" in response. He learned just for Gilbert. He tried to figure it out on his own but needed help which was when he ran into Rhys.

He doesn't even make a deal about Gilbert's face right now but it does make his heart swell a little bit. He' a people pleaser and he's glad Gilbert seems to be flattered? Impressed? Ah, but there's a smell in the air and he waits a second or two for Gilbert to notice before realizing that isn't going to happen ad saying, )

Ah... your cooking is burning, Gilbert.

Ah— dammit!!

[NO, HIS BACON!! He'll quickly remove the pan from the stove, cursing under his breath, but at least that means he's taken a step out of his embarrassing moment of ultimate embarrassment there.

With a sigh, he turns the pieces over... He hates wasting food but there's no way he's serving this to Urashima, so he simply takes a second plate out for himself and sets the scraps there before starting with some fresh slices.]

...Sorry - I was just a little surprised. [At least he didn't pass out this time!] I... Thank you. That means a lot.

[IT'S JUST A CUP OF COFFEE GILBERT.]

( Okay but that? That's funny and there's an amused smile on Urashima's face and a childish laugh. )

It's nothing. ( It really is. It's just a cup of coffee which is basically a cup of tea. ) I'll learn how to make more things too. And I'll make breakfast for you.

... Ah, maybe not as nice as the ones you make but I'll make sure they're good.

[DON'T LAUGH AT HIM URASHIMA HE'S SO TIRED. And embarrassed again...]

Yes. ( He's a simple sword spirit. Well, actually there's one more thing and that'll be trying this cup of coffee that he's about to pour for Gilbert. ) And you can try this.

( And he'll slide mug over with both hands and then leave it for Gilbert, folding oth hands in front of him and giving a small bow. )

[This time, he's careful to flip the bacon before he reaches for the mug. Gosh, having someone bow to him is still strange even after ascending into a dukedom...]

I do, yes. [Well...! Time to take a little sip! Fortunately he doesn't really have to wait for it to cool, since he's used to drinking his cups of coffee fresh from the pot. HM...

Of course it's fantastic okay EVEN IF IT WAS A CUP OF MUD, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN TOUCHED.]

( NO ITS A GOOD CUP BECAUSE RHYS TAUGHT HIM WELL AND URASHIMA IS A GOOD SWORD SPIRIT that will practice very hard at something for a few days before getting bored and deciding to skip sword practice again but this is coffee and is easier than his brother's training regimens.

I'll be sure to tell Mr. Rhys! ( Rhys-sensei, tbh. ) Uhm... I'll make some whenever you want me too, okay? So, please, ask!

( Really, ask, or else turtle boy is just going to hover and wait. )

I wouldn't want to bother you too much, but-- I'll - all right. [He'll ask SOMETIMES... Maybe like, once every few days or something. Otherwise he'd just feel like he was imposing!!]

The food's about done cooking by now too, so he'll set the mug briefly to the side to plate it. It's the usual fare, though he'll artfully arrange some strawberries on one side for Urashima (those get a little bit of whipped cream) and on the other for Kamekichi after he carefully cuts the greens away.]
