week 7
![]() 24 players remaining ♫ monday - thursday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by Katerina's calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. After hearing the motive, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now a park and playground next to the clinic. >Mingle? This is Week 7's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Investigations will go up on Friday. When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. If you plan on having any private conversations between characters, remember to let us know in the post linked below. More plot elements will be introduced this week. Mod comments will be occasionally distributed to open toplevels, accordingly. setting rulebook profiles private conversations |

[SHE CAN'T HAVE IT it... it belongs to Oz........ #creepy
He's also looking minutely baffled by that, staring between her and the pony and back again. Then, after a second of very serious consideration:] Where did it even come from.
no subject
[Okay but. Can she borrow it.]
First of all don't be so rude. Second, this is Maryla. Maryla, this is Gilbert.
[Poland cups her hand to whisper loudly in Maryla's ear.] Usually he has better manners. Also. Normally you don't get to see that much leg. Drink it in.
[Not that she's complaining about the latter.]
no subject
[Is that Poland's idea of cute?? ...It's probably better if he doesn't ask, actually.
THAT SAID-- He actually feels vaguely ashamed when he's scolded for being rude to the horse?! If Urashima's turtle is important and special, Maryla probably is too, right...]
Er... Sorry. [Except then it's evaporating in the wake of shame, and Gilbert's immediately hiding behind the door like a sad loser.] —I need to find my pants!
1/2
[Sore topic you hit there somehow Gilbert.]
2/2
Where's all your laundry?
[Poland's invited herself into your room Gilbert, hope you don't mind.]
no subject
Nothing is wrong with maids. [He's part of the help staff too, okay!! Just. Also a duke... #struggle] But I don't think the outfits are designed to be fashionable
[OR MAYBE THEY ARE. His sense of fashion has been watered down to trench coat chic... WHY IS POLAND IN HERE THOUGH-- Hopefully she likes the smell of cigarettes because that's what his entire room reeks of. Good work, Gilbert.]
It's clean and put away, I just-- Wait, I can't change with you in here!
no subject
Oh I thought they stole all your clothes and just left you that to wear which is why you ran out of your room like that but-- [Augh. God. Poland coughs, wildly motioning for Maryla to definitely not follow her in here. She doesn't need second hand smoke.]
Oh my god-- [Poland's eyes are watering.] No wonder Break never wants to sleep with you.
[She was blaming Break's pride when really she should have just been blaming Gilbert's gross habits.]
no subject
[As in. In the same room. On separate beds. CHASTELY, LIKE PROPER FAKE VICTORIANS.]
Ergh... Sorry. I keep meaning to leave the window open. [He looks over at it, and then over at Poland, and just--] Don't look.
[He'll open the window but HIS (remaining scraps of) DIGNITY, he needs to preserve it.]
no subject
[Poland stifles a giggle.]
Why do you smoke so much anyways-- it's bad for you! I totally didn't save your life so you could choke yourself to death slowly you know.
[Poland won't look, but Maryla makes no promises.]
no subject
As for the question:] Smoking isn't going to kill me. [...Well, actually. Considering he doesn't have his Nifty Powers here, maybe he should be a little more concerned?!] ...I just get - antsy when I stop. I've tried to quit before, but...
[He's not very good at it. HE'S FAILED NINE TIMES.]
no subject
Yeah okay but like. It's still pretty gross. No offense.
You can't just give up! The only way you can really fail is if you don't try at all!
Is it just about having something in your mouth or...?
[Never mind that if it's the mouth thing Poland would have the same problem. Her oral fixation is just the edible kind.]
no subject
HE ALSO LOOKS A LITTLE EMBARRASSED he knows it's gross. He's stuck... Stuck in hell.]
I've tried! But every time I quit, I get jittery and nervous and I can't concentrate on anything until I have another. [CLENCHING A FIST.] It's all that damn Break's fault!
no subject
Can't you just. Like. I dunno.
[Poland smacks her hands into her palm.] What if I made you paluszki?
When you go to reach for a cigarette you just grab a paluszki instead!
no subject
—Never mind.
[That's more of a mumble than anything... He's giving her a curious look now, though! Someone remind him he still needs to change into a shirt instead of wearing a tiny maid dress over a pair of pants.]
What's paluszki?
no subject
It's like. Snack sticks. They're really good, I could totally eat them all day.
no subject
Snack sticks? [?!??] I've never heard of anything like that before. But if they're sticks...
[Maybe he can like, trick himself into thinking they're cigarettes!]
no subject
I'll teach you how to make some if you want. [Gilbert likes to cook.
You can just carry them around and when you feel stressed, just shove it in your mouth.
no subject
But! That sounds like it might work...!]
I wouldn't mind learning. [Because even if it doesn't work--] I'd like to bring the recipes I've learned here back with me so I can share them with Oz, anyway.
no subject
Let's go!
no subject
[A SIGH as he starts to head for the door, but wait--]
...I still need to get out of this dress!
no subject
Don't rip it, it's cute.
no subject
[Because he will 100% rip it otherwise.]
no subject
Lift your arms straight up!
no subject
Thanks.
[It's going to be a tight fit off but at least she doesn't have to worry about getting any zippers or buttons, since none of them closed in the first place.]
no subject
One time. My friend Hungary wore one of Austria's dresses because he thought it would be really funny if I saw it. It totally was. And then he got stuck. Which was actually even funnier because then he panicked.
So then we had to do this, because if he ripped it she would have ripped him a new one. You're not as big as he is though but. [And fwoosh! The dress is off.] You're still pretty!
