week 7
![]() 24 players remaining ♫ monday - thursday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by Katerina's calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. After hearing the motive, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now a park and playground next to the clinic. >Mingle? This is Week 7's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Investigations will go up on Friday. When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. If you plan on having any private conversations between characters, remember to let us know in the post linked below. More plot elements will be introduced this week. Mod comments will be occasionally distributed to open toplevels, accordingly. setting rulebook profiles private conversations |

[What the fresh hell is this supposed to be. Some kind of...death trap obstacle course? That's about all Faize can think of as he wanders around the park, cautiously examining all the various bits of playground equipment. Is there anything in the slides? The merry-go-round looks like it's supposed to spin, what happens if he gives it a warily half-hearted push? The teeter-totter gets a few wary pushes as well, just to confirm that it really does function the way it looks like it should but...what the hell is it? Some kind of shitty catapult?]
[This is really just kind of sad...]
Wednesday, 10am, outside the hotel
[It's way too early to be stargazing, but that's not stopping Faize from wandering around outside the hotel and staring up at the sky. It almost seems as though he's expecting something to show up.]
[But, of course, nothing does, which prompts him to start futzing with a peculiar bracelet, frowning and muttering to himself. You might be able to catch snippets of his frustrations, should you wander close enough.]
Did they somehow manage to disable syncing functionality? [Oooo, apparently the bracelet makes appropriately futuristic space noises when you mess with it. Fancy.] No, that can't be it... it really must be a universal matter after all... I wonder...
[If he wonders any harder though, smoke's probably going to pour out of his ears. Or maybe his cuffs will just burst into flame, who can say for sure.]
Wildcard
[Monday through Thursday, Faize can be found doing any number of Faize-ish things. Loitering around the school or the playground, browsing the clothing store (suits are pretty cool, he's come to find?), daily training from 1-4 is a thing as usual, stargazing from the school roof on Wednesday night...hit me with whatever.]
tuesday
This needs to be fixed.
... Except, shit, how do people actually play on this stuff? Especially teenagers bigger than your average toddler or elementary school kid. This shit does not look kid-safe?? They're all going to end up with splinters. ]
Wanna teet or tot? Er, tet or tot. Teet or toot? ... Teeter or totter.
[ Gestures to the "shitty catapult". ]
no subject
[Faize gives Roxy a bewildered look, then looks at the shitty catapult. Then back to Roxy. You can all but see the ?????? going through his mind right now.]
...I'm...sorry? What exactly do you mean?
no subject
Ok, just sit at one end and I'll sit at the other. Then we just. Teeter back and forth.
[ yeah ok that may be a little bit lame ]
no subject
[Giving the teeter-totter another incredibly wary look.]
Are you certain that is entirely safe? This...teeter totter, was it? [Is that what it's actually called, or is that just the name of what you do on it?] appears to be in rather questionable condition. [...] Or is it supposed to look like this?
no subject
Well... no? It probs is supposed to look less. [ death trap-y ] But if we get hurt, the clinic's right over there, so!
no subject
[Plus, they're both about the same size? What are the chances one of them will send the other flying? Not high, probably.]
So...we just take a seat on each end?
[Sounds so dubious but HE'S GONNA TRY IT. Because Roxy at least seems to agree that these things look like deathtraps waiting to happen.]
Tuesday!
[Isn't it great, Faize? A playground! Bill is pretty sure this is the best addition yet.]
no subject
This...hardly looks like the sort of place one would come to "play". It all seems rather...precarious.
[Like have you looked at this equipment? This is so janky and there is no way someone isn't going to die on this merry-go-round before the end of the week.]
no subject
[Granted he...couldn't get physically hurt from anything breaking before either but details details. He hops up onto said merry-go-round, ignore the squeak it gives under his weight.]
Come on! We could totally go for a spin on this. Or do you wanna go doubles on a slide?
no subject
Bill, I...really don't think that is wise. I know you have immunity this week, but somehow I do not believe that device is meant to make a noise like that!
no subject
[Hopping back down, he moves to take Faize's hand so he can try and pull him onto it.]
Come on, come on!
[A pause.]
Or do you want me to go first so you can see that it's perfectly safe?
no subject
[Needless to say, Faize resists the tugging because he REALLY doesn't think that is at all safe.]
I really...don't think you should either, Bill. I am not certain that something like this is covered under the protection of immunity. Break was able to hurt himself, after all...

Tuesday
Hey! Hey! Faize! [Waving. Waving.]
Come swing with me!
no subject
[Faize walks over to the swing set, but doesn't actually get on it. Rather, he looks cautiously up at the support beam. It's supporting Poland just fine, clearly, but will it be able to handle both of them? He might just be running some vague calculations to try and determine that.]
Err... I can do so just fine from here, no? [He is watching you swing, that's like basically the same thing, right?]
no subject
sticking the landing right next to Faize.]
no subject
[Oh god, he knew it. He knew this playground was bad ne-- oh. She did that on purpose, didn't she. Okay, she's fine. This is fine. Everything's okay.]
An...excellent landing. But really, you probably should be a bit more careful...
no subject
Thanks!
Now it's your turn.
no subject
[Look at him go. He is swinging.]

Wednesday night
[ She's also dressed a little more warmly this time, scarf and gloves and coat and all. But she's also calling this out from the relative safety of the ground. ]
no subject
[He pulls his hands out from behind the back of his head to prop himself up on his elbows instead.]
I really must be as predictable as Bill says, if even changing locations makes me so easy to find. [Because there is...more room on the school roof, even if it takes a little more work to get on top of. No chance of people mistaking him for a severed leg.] Though, given the circumstances, I can hardly consider such predictability to be a bad thing.
[Because Alisha was the one who found him.]
no subject
[ Unless someone murders him, but it's too early for that! She is looking relieved through her smile, though. ]
no subject
Well I have little desire to make myself unavailable to you, so I suppose I will have to continue on in the same manner. [He sits up completely, letting himself slide down to the edge of the roof.] That said, what is it that you need of me at the moment?
no subject
[ CLEARING HER THROAT. How do people say such things so easily? ]
I just wanted to... spend time with you.
no subject
That can be arranged quite easily, as I am always glad to spend time with you. Though that raises another question. Would you prefer I join you on the ground, or are you in the mood for another round of rooftop stargazing?
[It snows at night now, and they haven't gone for a romantic moonlit, snowfall walk yet. Or thrown snowballs at each other. There are so many options here, the night is still young.]
