seven vices week 6 24 players remaining ♫ monday - sunday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by a calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. After that...announcement, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now a record store next to the clothing store. On the chapel wall near the altar, black and white portraits of Cheshire and Lucyhave been hung up. Anyone looking for it will find that Lucy's machete is now gone. >Mingle? This is Week 6's mingle log, covering Monday to Sunday. As this is a breather week, there will be no investigation or trial. When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. [ Dhaos is not helping anyone look for dismembered parts. If someone wants a corpse part that's on them, although he doesn't mind investigating here. He will be looking through the categories for the records, only to shamelessly open a container. He's holding it and observing the item with curiosity. Should anyone enter, he will turn his attention upon them. ]

...How is this supposed to work, exactly? Explain.

It seems fun. Before Orin became a youkai and took over, I had to find bodies to fuel the fires of Old Hell, so it's almost nostalgic.

That said, I cannot be surprised they came up with something like this. Although, I doubt I could call this... 'fun'.

That all depends on when I found them relative to their death. Orin is much better at it than I am, though...she's stolen corpses from funerals before. She's turned collecting bodies into an art form, really.

[She sounds so proud. This is terrible.]

Stolen corpses from funerals? Wood wasn't as effective...?

[ Satori why. Well, at least they were already dead, but still. Dhaos doesn't know if he's ever met someone who does this sort of thing (obviously he hasn't). ]

It's less efficient in a lot of ways, yes. There's also the matter of usability. There are plenty of ways to use wood on the surface, so people would definitely notice and get upset if a lot of wood vanished, but there are so few ways to get any use at all out of bodies...they go to waste rotting in the ground, so why not burn them for fuel, instead?

[This is almost, almost a good reason to steal dead bodies.]

Orin has the ability to speak to corpses, too, so it's more interesting for her if that's what she carries.

[ Dhaos does the thing where he freezes. And then slowly turns his head to look in Poland's general direction as in 'there is someone there, isn't there?'. ]

[The distinct splat of the kidney hitting the wall behind her makes her grimace sharply.

Watching it slide down to the wall... and.

[It should come as no surprise that Yoite doesn't get out much, and he's never seen a record store in his life. He's still going to wander in and check it out though, and he walks over to Dhaos when he sees him.]

I don't know. [ He tilts his head, looking at the record curiously.] Is it one of those things you throw? [ He's probably seen a Frisbee once or twice, but he's more than likely thinking it's an incredibly ineffective shuriken.]

[dhaosu]

...Hmm, we could see if it functions like that.

[ It's just them in here so he aims at the wall to test it's durability. He made sure to hold back too, but. It breaks. ]

I...suppose not?

... [ Well now that's seen Dhaos do it, he can't resist. He picks one up himself and throws it like he would a shuriken-- it actually flies with a nice torque and velocity before it breaks just like Dhaos'.]

It's too fragile, it would need to be enhanced. [ A beat.] Are they all the same?

We could always... test it out, can't we?

[ Dhaos swears they are not menances, he is just curious after he watches Yoite throwing another. Then he moves to grab another, and toss.


Predictably it shatters. ]

Hm, three so far. Yet they are all divided into different categories. Surely, they can't all be the same.

[ The last thing he needs is another surprise entrail, and one way to avoid it is not to put effort into finding them in the first place.

Well, at least Sans is the first person he's asked thus far who wouldn't, even though he's a skeleton (still a person!). ]

Good; it is already ridiculous enough the incentive to complete this is a 'meal'. Not to mention that human must be enjoying seeing others take part in this.

Miata is a human. [ And Lithuania is unfortunately protective of humans, it appears. Or those like her. He doesn't understand it. ] They come from the same place, as they speak the same foreign words. Hence, Katerina is also a human.

Not as much as some- [RIP POLAND AND LITHUANIA] -but more than I'd have ever wanted. It's not much like a "hunt" at all. I think they're just trying to wage some sort of bizarre psychological warfare.

Yes... this is not a proper 'hunt' or 'search' if they just leave it out in the open where people would be passing through easily anyway. Since they are watching us and no one is dying this week, I also surmise they need to get their entertainment somehow from our reactions.
