week 5 - day 2 trial
![]() ♫ sunday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn, after which everyone is expected to have cast their votes. >Discuss? [She is shaking violently, barely holding herself together with bandaged arms.]
And Clover had nothing to do with it so please leave her alone.

If I hadn't I would be the corpse on that table right now. Cheshire was going to kill me.

Are you, like, basically confessing here?

[And Clover jumps up to stand in front of where Lucy's sitting, arms out, whole body shaking.]
It's not her! It can't be her! Lucy didn't do it! [All Clover ever does is scream, but she's getting louder and louder with each word; she's never been louder in her life and she's crying, tears without sobs, and her whole body is shaking but she's putting everything she has into being heard and the shouting tears her throat, clenches her chest—] You can't kill her! You can't! You can't kill Lucy!

[His voice is quiet, his hands open at his sides. He's got to try to reason with the smol pink.]
Just... let her speak, okay? We have to... let her tell what happened, honestly.

It's okay. With this no one will suspect you.
[A small smile because... Well, she trusts Clover to live on longer than her.]

[She whirls around, and she's trying to keep up the anger because it's all she has but it's already falling apart just looking at her and Clover makes an awful, shrieking keening noise trying not to sob.]
They wouldn't have! No one would have! We—we need to be missing something, there would have been something to point to someone else! It can't—you can't—you can't die! [And she bursts into full-on sobs, still as loud as ever but in between screams she's struggling to find her own breath.] You can't die, Lucy, you can't!

( After hearing her explanation and everything, he knows this wouldn't have happened if Cheshire hadn't tried to kill someone in the first place. And Cheshire is his friend so he feels like he needs to apologize at least some for this situation. )
