week 5 - day 2 trial
![]() ♫ sunday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn, after which everyone is expected to have cast their votes. >Discuss? I'm just human. I'm nothing special. How can I be expected to get away...?
[She just sounds so sad.]

YOU.. DIDN'T NEED TO KILL SOMEONE TO PROVE THAT.... YOU COULD HAVE JUST ASKED ME!!

Special enough to survive being stabbed by his claws if he realized I knew?
[Guess who is surprisingly cynical. This girl.]

[ TBH...Cheshire was a combatant, and Lucy is less-so, isn't she? ]
Even if you'd called for help, I don't know that any of us would have made it in time.

[She doesn't sound proud. Just even more SAD.]

La-- Lucy, that's wrong!! Being a human doesn't make you unremarkable! You have friends, people who care about you, who would have done everything to protect you! If you had tried to run, or-- we would have--
[ Okay, maybe she's shaking now too. ]

Everyone was asleep. Even if you woke up and found him at the scene of the crime I would still be dead.
The only option left was to fight back by myself.

[ There's so much frustration in her expression, and her eyes are welling up with tears now as she clenches her hands into fists and shakes her head, hard. She's had to fight people she's trusted. She's been betrayed by people she's trusted. People she's trusted have died, at her hand... unintentionally, but still. But this-- ]
No! How am I supposed to let you die?!

So...it really was just self-defense. That rotten cat... [Wow someone might have just topped Vegeta on her shit-list??? Is this how the Pandoras feel.]
This isn't right! You shouldn't have to die just because you saved yourself! [Not that she's down with letting an innocent person die instead either, but all of this just feels wrong.]

She won't say anything, instead she just. . . hollowly laughs bitterly at how much it rings true to her ears. It's as if she said it herself, really. ]

Just like Dhaos, she thinks it's weird to hear a human say that. But she's not going to vocalize it. ]

...For what it's worth, I don't think your actions were wrong, either. Anyone else would have done the same. ...I'm sorry that they turned out like this, though.

Thank you... From the start there was only one end to this though.
[She fought but the second she entered that kitchen before anyone else her fate was most likely sealed.]

We'll find a way to set things right.
[Please wait for them from the ghosty beyond, Lucy...]
