week 5 - day 2 trial
![]() ♫ sunday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn, after which everyone is expected to have cast their votes. >Discuss? It's okay. With this no one will suspect you.
[A small smile because... Well, she trusts Clover to live on longer than her.]

[She whirls around, and she's trying to keep up the anger because it's all she has but it's already falling apart just looking at her and Clover makes an awful, shrieking keening noise trying not to sob.]
They wouldn't have! No one would have! We—we need to be missing something, there would have been something to point to someone else! It can't—you can't—you can't die! [And she bursts into full-on sobs, still as loud as ever but in between screams she's struggling to find her own breath.] You can't die, Lucy, you can't!

[And that's all she can really say. She really tried. She doesn't want to die. That was obvious from the second she lied in her initial testimony.
Lucy stands up to wrap Clover in a hug. For once, Lucy is not crying at all. She's stone faced.]

You can't die! You can't! You—they can't—they can't kill you, I—I won't let them! [She's shaking so badly she has to lean against Lucy to even keep herself upright, she's hardly able to even breathe—] You—you should have told me! Why didn't you tell me?! I would—I would have covered for you, I—why didn't—why didn't you wait for me to wake up?! You can't, y-you, you ca-can't— [And she can't find enough breath in her to speak and she just sobs.]

She feels like complete shit but at least Clover is safe.]
Clover... You were right. I should have waited. I'm so sorry I put you through this.
[And more small nothings mumbled along to try and calm her friend down.]
