week 4
![]() 28 players remaining ♫ monday - thursday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by a calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. After hearing the motive, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now a police station to the far east of the chapel. On the chapel wall near the altar, black and white portraits of Youko, Zelos, and Morrigan have been hung up. Anyone looking for them will find that Youko's pink shoes and the fragments of Zelos's crystal are now gone. >Mingle? This is Week 4's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Investigations will go up on Friday. When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. If you plan on having any private conversations between characters, remember to let us know in the post linked below. More plot elements will be introduced this week. Mod comments will be occasionally distributed to open toplevels, accordingly. setting rulebook profiles private conversations |
monday!
[Oh. It's more of the neat folded paper things... He never did get to ask Urashima about those last week.]
Good morning. Might I ask what the two of you are doing?
no subject
( Urashima says super casually like this is totally a normal thing. And to be fair, as a sword spirit himself, this probably is a normal concept to him, even if he himself never received offerings. )
Do you wanna help?
no subject
I...could help, yes. Though before I do, I feel as though an explanation would be beneficial. [He picks up one of the cranes and gently turns it over in his hands.] Is this some manner of Earth ritual?
no subject
Hinata-kun and I made some cranes and he thought it would be nice to decorate the school house since it's so dark. And I thought it'd be nice to leave something for the spirits too. ( He hasn't seen any himself but he's heard about them running around the town. ) Back home, you can leave things for spirits to make them happy!
( There isn't really a deep meaning to it otherwise but he feels like Faize deserves a better explanation still... )
Hmmm... but there is a custom back home... ( And he holds up one string of colorful cranes, ) Do you wanna hear that one?
no subject
Yes, please! [He is always down for hearing about things from other cultures, especially Earth. Feed the knowledge sponge. Do it.]

If you can fold a thousand cranes, your wish will come true. It's because cranes are one of the most mystical animals back home. The other mystic animals are dragons and ( Heh heh! He's excited and proud to share this one. He gives a suspenseful pause and says, ) turtles!
They're lucky because they're supposed to live for at least a thousand years and there are a lot of stories about them blessing good humans!
I'm not that old yet but I have a friend back home named Tsurumaru-san. His name means "crane" and he's over a thousand years old! And then there's Ookurikara-san and he's named after the dragon on his blade... he's almost seven hundred!
( Then there's baby Urashima Kotetsu who will be that old some day too, right right?? If he survives this murder game too... )

A thousand cranes... [That is so many cranes. He's eyeing the pile as though trying to count just how many the two of them have managed to fold.] It would be nice, if such a legend were true.
[Just think...they could have left here by now if it were. They could have folded a thousand of these things in no time, between the thirty-six of them. He stares up at the ceiling. Is that where he should hang it from? Does he need to stand on a desk?]
...if it's not too much trouble, do you think...you could teach me how to make thee folded paper creations? Any of them, really. I rather liked the box I saw in your room when I investigated it a few weeks ago.
no subject
Well, they have to be true, right? Other wise people wouldn't keep sharing the story for hundreds of years.
( This is what he thinks, at least. But then again, Urashima also believes that the palae of the dragon king is real and that turtes can become beautiful princesses if you save the right one so... )
Hm? The box I made for Miss Poland? Heh heh, that's one of my favorites... I can teach you! It's really easy.
no subject
Mmm...I suppose you have a point. I should have considered that.
[You are 2pure, Urashima. 2pure4logic]
Whenever you have the time then. I look forward to it.
[But for now: hanging cranes! Let's do that.]
no subject
( He suggests like he isn't going to be the victim of a framing attempt too this week, yeah. Urashima is going to try to reach up and hang one string of cranes by the chalkboard but it's a little too high for short sword mcgee. )
Ah.. can you help me? Heh heh...
