At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying.

Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries.

The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells.

At 5PM, the trial will close, after which everyone is expected to have cast their votes.

[True to Kaguya's word, danmaku are meant for show. Satori fires off two bullets, which will impact Undyne unless she dodges. She'll feel like she's been punched.

However, there will be holes with faint scorch marks left in Undyne's clothing where the danmaku hit.]

Yes. That's the extent of their destructive power, but something like burning through clothes is possible. And, of course, aside from that, you're perfectly fine.

Obviously. The real damage was from the broken neck, or the head trauma, or both.

[If Satori sounds bitter, it was because she was really liking the Hanyuu Culprit Theory, and it's seeming less likely now.]

Do you know Kaguya?

We're from the same place, but I've never met her. She lives on the surface, I think, because I've never seen her underground.

So you wouldn't know anything about her personality.

No, I'm afraid not. I tend not to concern myself with the humans and youkai above.

[She idly ties the tendrils of her eye into a noose, then unties it - only to begin retying it again as she explains.]

Youkai are...spirits, of a sort. Otherwordly creatures with supernatural powers. There are all kinds of them - you look like a certain kind of youkai, yourself, so I had assumed you were one too.

I'm a Chain. It sounds similar, but Chains normally can't exist outside of the Abyss without consuming humans for energy.

There's a few exceptions to that.

Are you one of the exceptions, or have you been made an exception by whatever force it was that brought us here?

I think I may be an exception, since the Intention of the Abyss resurrected me herself. I don't have much reason to leave the Abyss, but I never had interest in eating when I did.

...Are those ears on your head because you're a cat, or are they just a...decoration?

I was a cat. I belonged to the Intention of the Abyss and Alice, but the Intention loved me the most. When I was killed the Intention took my soul and gave me a human body because I always wanted to be a human too. I'm still a cat, so I'm not completely human in form.

I need to get home so I can go back to protecting the Intention.

[He'll even twitch his ears and his tail for her. See? Real! To boot his arms are strangely long and his fingers each are tipped with long steel-like claws.]

She hates being lonely, and she had to be all alone for so long.

I can't believe they made me leave her.

[Satori clenches her fists. Is this what her own pets are worrying about right now? Whether their master is lonely again?]

I will make them pay for it. You can rest assured. I do not take kindly to people who torment animals like this.
