It's a strange, twisting feeling reverberating throughout all in the town, even able to be felt by those still asleep, warping their dreams. Everyone's sense of time is back to normal, and the large grandfather clock in the lobby is gone. Perhaps it was a matter of timing, or perhaps a matter of choosing a target that could not defend himself. I know not their reasoning.

I don't, either, but I'm trying to figure it out. Sometimes the why is as important as the who, after all.

[The motive is the most interesting piece of this puzzle to her - she's not particularly broken up about some human kid kicking the bucket, but the choice of target doesn't make much sense to her.]
