It's a strange, twisting feeling reverberating throughout all in the town, even able to be felt by those still asleep, warping their dreams. Everyone's sense of time is back to normal, and the large grandfather clock in the lobby is gone. Which, here, can only mean the mastermind had a change of heart--or someone is dead. >Investigate? cast setting

He could have fallen off of something. ...Or been pushed, more likely. [Because come on, look at their situation. Lithuania will carefully part his hair. How's his head looking around where that blood is, and is the blood completely frozen or slush or what here?]

The roof of the building, maybe? I can go take a look up there, if you think it would help.

[ Stormfly is only a whistle away, staying well back from the dead body. ]

If you would, please. [Asking anyone to try to climb onto the roof is asking for another death.]

YO ANNA - THE ROOF

You got it.

[ She puts her fingers to her lips and gives one shrill whistle, catching the attention of her partner, who immediately runs over. Swinging up onto Stormfly, Astrid and the dragon take off to head to the roof...

Which is exactly how high they can fly together, and only for a minute or so, so they'll be landing up there to look around. Anything on the roof of note? ]

[ There is indeed.

Much of the snow on the roof above where Takao's body lies is disturbed, including a large indentation at the very edge. ]

[brawlhalla]

[ So we're going with "fell from the fucking roof", okay. Or rather, "was pushed". Is the indentation notable in any way? And are there any footprints up here or something to eyeball? ]

[ The indentation is person-sized.

Besides the snow being heavily disturbed, it's not really possible to tell what caused it--just that something was up here at one point. ]

[brawlhalla]

[ ALL RIGHT. :|a Is there anything else to note up here, or should she head back down? ]

[ There's nothing else of note. ]

[ You know what, since she is here, she's going to ask: ]

Did you find something up there?

[ A brief nod. ]

He definitely fell from up there...that is, there was signs that a person was up there, and it's right above the body. So.

[ When she says "fell", she means "WAS THROWN OR PUSHED", tbh. ]

... If someone was up there, then how the hell did they get up there in the first place?

[ Because maybe the ladder or stepladder they used might be a clue? "Might" being the key word here. ]

[ All of the blood is frozen, yes.

On top of his neck being bent at an impossible angle, there's also a sizeable wound on the side of his skull. ]

[herbgrace]

[Time to get messy, then. ...Alright, she's messing with a head wound, things are already messy. But she's going to feel that wound. Did it break the skull? Also worth knowing: is the wound on the side of his body that's against the ground, or the opposite side?]]

[ It did indeed break his skull. Have fun touching frozen brains. The wound is on the side of his body facing the ground as well.

If she peers closely, there's also something off about his hair. ]

[herbgrace]

[Sadly, this is probably not the first time Lithuania has touched frozen brains. The life of a nation is unfortunate at times. But, hmm, what's up with his hair? She'll examine the hair more closely.]

[ They appear to be slightly scorched. ]

[herbgrace]

[...Odd. How much of the hair is scorched, and where in comparison to the head injury?]

[vicedirector]

[ The burnt hair is minimal, just a very small handful of his head overall. They're also on the back of his head, as opposed to the side, where the wound lies. ]

[herbgrace]

[Got it. Okay, then, time to check over the rest of his body. She feels along his chest and limbs for any sign of additional injuries. She'll turn him over and check the other side as well after that. She'll also remove and loose clothing and check under shirts and whatever set of pants he's wearing, although she'll draw the line at underwear.]

[ His ribs, arms, and legs, are broken to hell and back. That much is obvious with even just a cursory patting down. Other than the requisite bruises and such associated with so many broken bones, there's nothing out of place.

...except when she takes a look at his back. ]

[herbgrace]

[Back mystery, reveal your secrets! What is there to be found?]

[ There's a series of bruises clustered on his back going from between the shoulder blades to mid-torso. ]

[herbgrace]

[Interesting. Do they correspond with any injuries on the other side of his body? Any sign of punctures anywhere? How big are these bruises compared to a finger or a hand?]
