seven vices week 1

monday - thursday

Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by a calm, albeit disinterested, voice.

"Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour."

That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present.

Curiously, anyone who has spoken with Miata for any period of time during the past week will notice that the voice coming from the television and her own do not match up.

Come Tuesday, the footsteps around the void will begin drifting away from it. The pitter-patter of feet can be heard when standing outside the clinic and chapel as well. On top of the food that was added to the kitchen last week, spaghetti noodles and tomato sauce is now available. You're welcome, Papyrus.

[Yup, you're the only one, Faize, you're very special. Only you.]

You're referring to time dilation relative to different points in space. [Yeah, guess who else is super used to space travel, even if it's not on his profile.] As if we're moving so fast that the passage of time for us is slower than for an outside observer.
symbologic: and covered in cookies. We should celebrate fake hurricanes every weekend. (shock ☄ Woke up on the floor naked)

[Ugh, come on guys. You're suddenly dumped into a place with a bunch of strangers and told to kill each other and you think the best idea is to ignore free information about their capabilities? smh, you're all gonna die.]

[Though clearly the cards don't tell all there is to know. Because Faize never would have seen this response coming.]

Precisely. I'm aware it's not exactly the same set of circumstances, as our location is fixed. But there are similar principles that can be applied to make things easier.

[Their ship has huge windows and lemme tell u, watching non-moving stars when you know you're moving is a trip.]

I am somewhat pleased to hear that I am not the only one who comes from a culture advanced enough to be capable of warp travel.

[Look, the card only had so much room, it's writer had to prioritize. And "marrying rich" is more important information than "actually very smart apparently".]

When you're going through time dilation, everything around you do as well. That won't be the case with this, so I don't think it will feel the same. [And it won't be like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber either, but he's hoping he can apply some of the same coping methods.]

Surprised? I've spent most of my life traveling through space at this point. It'd have been very boring if my ships hadn't been able to move faster than light. Any planet with any presence in the galaxy has to have that level of technology.
