week 1
![]() ♫ monday - thursday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by a calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. Curiously, anyone who has spoken with Miata for any period of time during the past week will notice that the voice coming from the television and her own do not match up. Come Tuesday, the footsteps around the void will begin drifting away from it. The pitter-patter of feet can be heard when standing outside the clinic and chapel as well. On top of the food that was added to the kitchen last week, spaghetti noodles and tomato sauce is now available. You're welcome, Papyrus. >Mingle? This is Week 1's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Investigations will go up on Friday. When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. [ Time distortion is something Hanyuu is, unfortunately, used to. So while she looks a little stressed out and weary, she's not too upset. She spends most of her Tuesday in the pool room, absently floating around.
The June weather was nice, but not quite warm enough to go swimming in. And also, well, they were too busy trying not to die to go on swimming trips, she guesses. ]
Thursday, outside the hotel
[ Or at least until Thursday rolls around. She looks significantly more distressed, standing outside in her puffy winter coat and building a rather sad-looking snowman. There's not quite enough snow to make a normal-sized one, and she has no implements for the facial features, so she pokes in a smile and eyes with her fingers. ]
...he does not look very holly jolly.
thursday

Have you made snowmen before?
no subject
I'm afraid, I have not, no.

[ She looks around, and wanders off to take a chunk of snow in her hands, being that she used up all of the snow in the immediate area.
When she comes back, she starts shaping one into a sphere. ]
It usually depends on the kind of snow. If it's very light and powdery, most snow sculptures will fall apart. But this snow is fine, you can pack it tightly.

I am familiar the the properties of snow, at least. But it no longer falls on my planet, so I'm afraid I've missed out on the activities it presents. The only time I have ben on a planet with snow, we had little time for such diversions. [Ironic that, in the middle of a murder game, he finally has time for something like that. He holds up his snowball.] Are snowmen normally so...puny?
no subject
[ eyes wide ]
Um...if you don't mind me asking, why is that?
[ She continues to gather snow from nearby, making her tiny snowball bigger. ]

Eldar's sun is very near the end of its life cycle, you see. When a sun becomes a red giant, as ours has, it radically changes the environment of planets within its system. Eldar is close enough that it has long since become too hot for snow to fall.
no subject
That sounds very frightening. [ There were a lot of things she picked up in human culture while living for 1000 years, but science stuff not related to medicine wasn't one of them. ]
The sun is able to...die?
(no subject)
tuesday!
O-oh, hey.
[Someone he hasn't talked to before! Perfect.]
It's, uh... Jeda, right?
[She had quite the assortment of names on her profile, he wasn't sure which one to use. The last one that's not in parenthesis seems safest?]
Mind some company?

[ She swims over to the edge of the pool closest to him and props her elbows on the tiles.
For a moment, she debates on whether or not to correct him. That was her last name, since she never ended up officially taking "Furude", but it's also very strange to hear. ]
...Hanyuu, if could, please.
[ Nah. ]
no subject
[A mistake! An eternity of feeling stupid about it as punishment. Except nah, she still came over to talk to him, so he's just going to take a seat at the edge of the pool and give her a smile.]
How're you holding up?
no subject
[ It took him 3 weeks to answer her. Her smile is a little strained. ]
I haven't been able to go swimming for a very long time, so it's a nice distraction.
no subject
Are you from somewhere without a lot of water, then? I mean... if you're a goddess, can't you just make it?
[How does that stuff work, Hinata has no clue.]
thursday
[ To be fair, there's a good chance she's never seen a real snowman before, so. ]
no subject
[ that's how the song went, right ]

Tuesday - Pool
The pool's a decent size she guesses, but somehow she figures Hungary would probably appreciate it more. Hungary really liked swimming and water polo-- and they were actually fun for her too when he was around to play.
When was the last time she even saw Hungary? It's felt like centuries... it definitely hasn't been centuries though. Right?]
Oh. [Poland didn't realize someone else was here! She starts to back out of the room slowly, looking very rosy faced.] Sorry...
no subject
No, no, it is fine! The pool can hold more than one person!
no subject
I-I forgot my bathing suit-- [She had no intentions of swimming-- you can't shove tissues into a bathing suit top if they'll just get wet.]
no subject
[ really, poland ]
no subject
It's not-- [you, it's me. Except really it definitely is you.] Um.
[Poland is bright red now, furiously twisting a lock of hair around a finger.]
no subject
But shit shit shit this is getting awkward. Hanyuu hoists herself up on the edge of the pool, wringing out her hair and then clapping. ]
...um, I'm Hanyuu. [ ... ] You are Poland-san, correct?
no subject
Poland nods, still furiously twisting that lock of hair. ]
Tuesday
I'd say let's have a hold-your-breath contest, but Hanyuu-chan looks so tired, I'm not even sure we should.
