week 7
![]() 24 players remaining ♫ monday - thursday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by Katerina's calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. After hearing the motive, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now a park and playground next to the clinic. >Mingle? This is Week 7's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Investigations will go up on Friday. When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. If you plan on having any private conversations between characters, remember to let us know in the post linked below. More plot elements will be introduced this week. Mod comments will be occasionally distributed to open toplevels, accordingly. setting rulebook profiles private conversations |

He listens, rubbing his chin with a contemplative hum.]
Well, you're definitely no William Blake or Elizabeth Browning. [Sorry just calling it like he sees it.]
It's not...bad though. You've got honesty and a compliment I mean those are both great things to have when asking someone out.
no subject
Yeah and um. You know. It rhymes. SO.
That makes it good.
[Bill help her.]

[Okay let's workshop this thing.]
But if you wanna make it a good poem you gotta go further than that. I mean, "you're pretty" and "I don't mind your ego" can't be the only feelings you have about her right?

[Poland rolls onto her back, looking up at the lobby ceiling.]
She's like. My best friend? I mean I have a lot of best friends but. She's. Like.
I dunno. Whenever she's happy my tummy gets butterflies so I always want her to be happy. Except that's hard because she's always so stern looking and sometimes it's hard to tell. But that's just because she's lived her whole life needing to be taken seriously.
That why she trains so hard and works so hard and puts 100% into literally everything she does. Which is like. Super admirable. She's so good at so many things. Sword fighting and training and lifting stuff and paperwork and budgeting and cleaning and cooking-- but it's important to relax too! So when she makes time for me in her schedule and I get to spend time with her that's the best. Even if she's always late for everything...
And she fights me on a lot of stuff! Because she's stubborn and she says I'm selfish and bossy but. Like. I don't mind. That just means that she's standing up for herself so if I'm not there to stick up for her, she'll be able to handle it. I worry about her a lot though. She's been through a lot of junk and I just want her to keep having a pleasant present and only keep getting better in the future.
She really is pretty though! Like she always wears the same thing, but I mean. She won hot or not without even trying so.
When we're farming in the fields and we're all covered in grime with her hair falling out of her braid with little fly aways. Cause then the sun hits her like, just right and she kinds glistens from sweat which sounds gross but it's not because she smells really good still. Like rye. And rue! Plus then she lets me pull her hair out of her braid to re-braid it-- her hair down is like the most majestic thing you've probably ever seen and...
[She will go on for hours if you don't stop her Bill.]

Eventually it's gotta stop though. Sorry Poland, but hours is a little ridiculous! A few minutes of rambling should be enough right? He clears his throat to get her attention again.]
Man, see? You've got so much you could put into a poem! You could probably write one of those big epics for her if you wanted, with everything you just said. A tiny thing like you had ain't gonna cut it, Dollface. Though it doesn't have to be a million stanzas long either you could still keep it short and simple...
So how about you write down like...four or five things you like about her the most? Like you could say something like "I like her determination" or "I like it most when she's happy"! Things like that. And that can be five or so stanzas expressing how you feel about her. Build up to suggesting a relationship.
[A short pause.]
Though, does she know any of this already?
1/2
Also it has to be very clear and concise and get straight to the point otherwise she won't get it.
[Speaking of not getting it--]
Um. That's. I.
no subject
I don't know. Honestly.
I thought she did but she didn't.
Except she wanted to dance on Easter so maybe she does?
So... [Poland's confused.]
