seven vices week 7 24 players remaining ♫ monday - thursday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by Katerina's calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. After hearing the motive, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now a park and playground next to the clinic. >Mingle? This is Week 7's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Investigations will go up on Friday. When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. [His increased durability came in handy for once! That said... Even if Dhaos won't mention it himself, Gilbert's gotta ask.]

[ What do you mean? It's super reassuring!

Dhaos does, however, entertain the notion of twisting the story a little, just to see Gilbert's reaction. But it does not last very long. ]

I see. You started to shout certain inane things as in... 'I shall fight them' and gestured wildly at some blocks. You seemed to be quite aggressive, and I believe you may have hit someone in the course of your moments where you were out of sorts.

Those are the "highlights", I believe, for lack of a better word.

[Dhaos and his .5 seconds of considering being a troll, incredible... But this sounds pretty part for the course as far as Gilbert's aware. Yelling at inanimate objects aggressively? YEP.]

...I'm sorry you had to see something like that.

[ Dhaos wonders if such a thing is always common whenever a human becomes drunk. ]

It is no issue. It did not get too much out of hand. It certainly made the night... interesting, to say the least.

As long as I didn't get too out of hand, I guess that's... fine.

[JUST BARELY. Just barely. But he'll sigh and card a hand through his hair, mild apology shifting into annoyance.]

It was that damn Break's fault. He knows I can't handle my liquor, so he finds every opportunity to drink.

Or I suppose...entices you into drinking as well? As it seems to assist in him embarrassing you from time to time, am I wrong?

[ He has noticed that Break likes to push around Gilbert a bit. Such friendship... or perhaps it was closer than that. Either way he doesn't want to assume things. ]

That's exactly why he likes doing it. It's been like this for as long as I've known him!

[ He cannot be blamed if they just seem like a perfect fit... but do not worry he has enough manners to not say such things aloud. ]

I see...how long have you known him, truly?

I've known him since I was fourteen, so it's been ten years...

[ A whole decade of Break..... that sounds like fun times for the whole family. ]

I understand. It must have been quite tough.

Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, it always did! Being around him for so long has been insufferable!

[AND YET, HE'S STILL HERE.]

...Heh. You still put up with his presence, regardless.

[ He wonders if true friendship/or soulmate (whichever applies) does in Gilbert's case mean putting up with Break's nonsense until the very end. ]

Perhaps, you have grown used to it, but do not wish to leave your friend?

But he does deflate a little eventually, and the habitual irritation fades somewhat. No point in not being honest considering they threw all the cards on the table week two when his ass was on the line in trial...]

...It can't be helped. When you're by someone's side for that long, working together, learning about each other... Well. [A little, sloping shrug.] After ten years of that, it would be hard to imagine what things would be like without him around.

[ He listens to the other speak, and yes, he could understand. How difficult it would be to suddenly be separated from someone you've cherished or known for so long. ]

Mm... after all that occurred, I figured that may have been the case, as you oft were kind enough to remain by him. Not to mention, you two had each other's backs when the situation became difficult to say the least.

[ ... ]

That said, we are still mostly in the dark concerning this situation. But, I believe some details may at least be revealed soon...if you would not mind once again joining myself for perhaps some high tea sometime.

[ But not now. ]

It's always been like that, too. Even though he's insufferable, I know that I can count on him to be on my side when I need the support. I do my best to do the same for him, too.

[See: the last trial Break was a suspect in where Gilbert stanned for him the entire way through, good work Gilbert.

But! He definitely looks a little surprised and curious about that, and there's little hesitation before he nods.]
