week 4 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |

But it's kind of weird that they'd agree to have a buddy at all in that case, yeah? Urashima said he asked Vegeta, so it's not like someone asked to buddy with him and he couldn't find a good reason to refuse.
If the footsteps from the trail outside are hers, then it looks like she agreed to walk to the police station with the killer for some reason. So either it's someone she really trusted, or...maybe she could have been planning to kill them herself.

It's not weird if it would provide them with an alibi. We all saw how well it worked for Poland. Anyway, those two seem the most likely if she really did walk there herself. ...And was there a second set of footsteps anywhere? The killer had to get to the police station somehow, too.

Mm... If there was ever any note, the killer probably disposed of it. Did anyone here know Selena well enough to be able to tell what might have motivated her to go out there?

If you really do think he's innocent though, then I bet the killer used her keys to go into her room and open her profile book to frame him. He couldn't have done it himself since...blind and all.
...or maybe she just had a really big crush on him, who knows!

I think so? I don't think we found any other sources of ash they could have used. Unless it was cigarette ash! [SUSPICIOUS STARE]

[GOD, UNDYNE who do you think he is.]

It's in my ashtray, not just "lying around my room"! Anyway, I didn't check, but no one could have gotten into my room without my key and I was talking to Break the entire time he was in mine. I would have noticed if he tried to stuff a handful of ash into his pocket or something.

[ selena did you do a dumb ]

Then she didn't feel threatened, clearly. ...Or in a rush? [????] That makes no sense. Wouldn't anyone be at least a little paranoid at the hours listed for her time of death?

just tagging you everywhere i guess
It could also explain why they were found by the clinic when it seems pretty out of place with everything else going on in the murder.

It does sound super unbelievable, but at this point, any reason to go outside at one in the morning seems pretty freaking dumb to me!

I didn't see her there on Thursday, but it makes sense that the killer may have walked with her to the station if the tracks were side by side.

It might be that... They would have had plenty of time to do anything they wanted with the keys after they were done using them. They could have worked on another frame, but a red herring is good for distracting us during trials, too.

Okay, new tactic! Which one of these suspects seem like they'd enjoy watching everyone get distracted by their dumb fake clues?! [it's totally Break isn't it]
no subject
I don't think anyone on the list would. ...Actually, most of them do seem like they would go for something that could ensure their victory a little better, so a bunch of red herrings and really obvious attempts at framing people are pretty strange.
