seven vices week 4 28 players remaining ♫ monday - thursday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by a calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. After hearing the motive, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now a police station to the far east of the chapel. On the chapel wall near the altar, black and white portraits of Youko, Zelos, and Morrigan have been hung up. Anyone looking for them will find that Youko's pink shoes and the fragments of Zelos's crystal are now gone. >Mingle? This is Week 4's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. [He doesn't need to see the clip to understand exactly why Break is reacting like this. The look he casts over is concerned - somewhat pinched, brows furrowed.]

[Anything he wants to say is something he figures he should save for later, though, so Break just gets that annoying Gilbert Silence for a few seconds.]

[ Maybe this is much like that sense you get when someone is watching you, because even though Gilbert doesn't say anything, Break seems to know that Gilbert is giving him a concerned look. Obviously this is a motive that Break in particular isn't happy with. He looks Gilbert's way, then clicks his tongue in frustration and annoyance. ]

...What's being shown on the television, by the way?

[ He's definitely not going to get into the motive here. ]

[Gilbert doesn't expect him to, at least, so that's no surprise.

Though he's not exactly enthused about having to explain what's on the screen, either... His lips purse again, but--]

I think they're clips of things that people regret the most. It's difficult to tell which belong to who, though.

[For what little solace that might bring.]

[ It's subtle, since he swallows the reaction as best he can, but Break's jaw definitely visibly sets and tightens. It's easy for him to think of a single moment above all others even though many could certainly come to mind. He's a man with many regrets, but the moment he had decided to undertake a particularly dark path was certainly the one he regrets the most. The moment passes since he has to relax his jaw to speak, but he nods. ]

I suppose that's a small comfort.

[ But now people will know he had princess hair... This is the worst part, clearly. ]

...I just hope no one is foolish enough to actually take this one.

[Break better watch out and make sure his ass doesn't get got by an Envy who wants princess hair this week.

But he watches Break's expression quietly and carefully, since he absolutely knows that Break understands which memory scraps of his are being shown without him having to say anything directly. Of course it would be that moment, and it isn't really better just because it's splintered, or just because no one else would get it. It's still invasive and cruel - not just to Break, of course, but to everyone here.

He's quiet for another second.]

We can be on the lookout this week.

[To, you know, headbutt people who seem like they might go for something like this.]

I suppose that sounds strange, since we should be normally... But I will be.

[ Break smiles, but it's more harried and tired looking than usual. ]

...Yet all the same, I'm sure there will be at least one person that can't pass it up. It's too tempting.

[He'd been thinking the same thing, honestly, but he's glad he's not the one who said it aloud... He wasn't sure if Break would want to confront that inevitability.]

We'll still do our best. ...Even if there's one, if others can still be stopped, that's...

[...Well. Not ideal, but still better than nothing.]

[ Break finishes the sentence for him, but his anger is turning into a much more manageable annoyance instead. ]

Ahh~. I'm reminded of your idiot, sewer rat brother, you know. Only the most pathetic people jump at something like this.

[ Technically he's including himself in that too, but he'd at least like to think he's better. Vincent, though? He'll definitely headbutt him as hard as he can. ]

Break...

[Don't make fun of people who aren't even here to defend themselves!! Also, don't self-slam like that, god. After sighing like an old man:]

That sort of temptation is something that could affect anyone.

[ Listen he gets to make fun of Vincent as much as he wants... He has plenty of reason okay!! ]

It could. I won't disagree with that.

[ He sighs heavily, but it trails off into a lighter sound. He waves his hand at Gilbert, then starts to usher him away. ]

Well~. With that excitement done for the day, I think I need something sweet to eat. Do you think you could make some~thing~? [ he's stress eating ]

[stupidly]

[And ushered away he'll be...! He has no particular desire to see the things playing out on the screen, himself, and it's probably better to distract Break from his urge to headbutt anyone who might contemplate the motive.]

Sure. How sweet? Breakfast-sweet?

[It's afternoon so he'll make Break a damn cake if he wants one, whatever!!]

...Just something sweet. Your pastries and the like are always excellent, so I'll leave it to you.

[ Wow, Break must be upset, he let a rare piece of praise slip out... ]

[stupidly]

[He'd cherish this moment if it wasn't a sign of how troubled Break is... (He's still kind of cherishing it, actually, this shit is rare--)]

All right. I'll make some turnovers, then.

[Since he can make several in one go and he imagines Break will be needing Many Sweets...]
