monday - thursday
Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by a calm, albeit disinterested, voice.

"Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour."

That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present.

After hearing the motive, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now a police station to the far east of the chapel. On the chapel wall near the altar, black and white portraits of Youko, Zelos, and Morrigan have been hung up.

Anyone looking for them will find that Youko's pink shoes and the fragments of Zelos's crystal are now gone.

This is Week 4's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Investigations will go up on Friday.

Monday; morning; police station
[Lithuania heads off early to check out the new building. A police station--when she sees it, she immediately fears for what weapons might be introduced. After glancing at the movie poster to see if she recognizes the style of uniform (though that's always questionable with movies), she ends up at the gun display rack.

And so, Lithuania can be found checking every single gun to see if it's loaded. She moves with amazing speed--it's obvious she's handled guns before, and she works through them quickly. So far, looks like nothing's loaded, thank goodness.]

Maybe we should take these guns apart.

Tuesday; late afternoon; swimming pool
[The swimsuit Lithuania is wearing is a high-backed one-piece, covering her well enough for her tastes that she can get some laps in. It's not something she indulges in often, but it's good exercise, and something to occupy her time with. She's not a bad swimmer, though not an expert by any means.

More adorably, Laima is splashing around in the pool as well. She's off to the side of Lithuania's lane, doggy paddling and throwing a live saver around the pool happily.]

Wednesday; during the sirens/possibly a bit after depending on Miata's status; FOR MIATA
[Lithuania seeks out Miata almost immediately after getting over her initial shock. Either Miata will be calm and there's nothing to actually worry about, or Miata will be worried, in which case they should all take some sort of shelter. And Lithuania can't help but worry about Miata.]

Miata--ah, Miata, what's going on? Why are there sirens?

[ The sirens have probably already stopped, but Liet can catch her as she books it out of the police station, scrambling over the ramp and making to start running into the void. Upon hearing her name, she stops, whirling around. ]

Wh...?

[ She's out of breath, a coat pulled on halfway. Miata shakes her head. ]

--I'm trying to figure that out.

[Oh, there she is, thank goodness. Lithuania was starting to worry something had happened to her.]

So even you don't know... Should we all go inside? Is there somewhere we should be?

[Are bombs going to start falling on them?]

[ She shakes her head. ]

I don't think anything will happen, but--just say in the hotel, just in case.

Alright. What about you? [You should come back to the hotel.]

I need to find what's causing it. [ jabbing her finger at the void ]

[What Lithuania doesn't say is let me go with you, let me protect you. It's something she can never really do. Certainly, in little ways, she's always tried to protect her citizens. But she's a nation--she's only a nation. It's Miata's choice to make.]

Be careful. [She'll follow Miata to the edge of the void, at least.]

Easier said than done. But hopefully this is just some stupid...ghost bullshit or whatever.

[ She huffs, properly buttons up her coat, and heads into the darkness. ]

[Modern (or "modern") guns are a bit beyond Gilbert, but he doesn't have marksmanship on his card for no reason - he's definitely familiar with them, too. There's no hesitation before he nods.]

I agree. I can help, if you wouldn't mind letting me watch you do the first.

[He's hoping it's not too different from what he's used to.]

[Lithuania turns one of the guns over in her hands.] It would be easier with tools, but let's see. [Lithuania pulls the bolt out of one of them and places it against her shoe, where the bottom lace is. She pulls up and the bolt loosens--then she unscrews it and the bolt is in two pieces.] A knife would probably help--a butter knife, even. But this should do. [Lithuania unhooks a necklace (gold, with a cross) from her neck and begins using the charm as a makeshift screwdriver, pulling the gun apart with a mixture of improvisation and force.]

[Dang, she knows her stuff. Gilbert watches, both mildly impressed at her resourcefulness and a little concerned. Good thing Lithuania doesn't seem like the type to straight-up murder any of them.]

Er— we could take the rest back to the hotel so we can get some butter knives. It would be better to put all of these pieces in an area where we can all check on them, so people are less tempted to take the parts and put one back together.

[Vegeta was thinking he might switch up his own exercise regimen by going for a swim himself! The swimsuit in his closet isn't that different than the clothing he's used to, so he's not bothered by it. He is a little bothered when he gets there and sees that Lithuania and her dog are already in the pool, though. So for about a minute he just stands near the edge of the water watching them, trying to decide if it's worth it to just dive in and do his own laps.]

[Lithuania notices him on one of her laps, but after a little while when it seems as if he's just standing there, she stops and treads water to speak to him.]

Would you like me to send Laima out of the pool?

... Just make sure she stays out of my way.

[And with that Vegeta dives into the water and starts swimming laps freestyle at olympic speeds.]

[Vegeta, you need to calm down. Then again, maybe this is calm for him. Lithuania calls Laima to move her over to the other side of the pool and resumes her laps. She doesn't move anywhere near Olympic speed, but she's got endurance.]

[This is pretty calm for him. Vegeta keeps swimming, not coming up for air nearly as much as you'd think a normal person would need, doing his best to ignore Lithuania. The longer he swims, the fast he becomes and the stronger the waves in his wake are.]

[Where there's a new building, Faize will be there too. GOTTA INVESTIGATE. For a moment he just stands in the doorway, watching Lithuania take the guns apart and looking impressed. When she suddenly speaks, he nods.]

I agree. Should one of us fall to temptation again, it would be better not to have such a weapon lying somewhere where it can be easily accessed and used.

[What do you mean they don't work without ammunition? What's a bullet?]

[ Alisha has yet to trust The Pool, so she's still fully-clothed when she wanders in... but she has to smile, seeing the dog cutely splashing around so happily. ]

You both look like you're enjoying yourselves.

Does it matter?

[Poland's sprawled out in the jail cell, looking lethargic.

New buildings were supposed to be exciting? Or something. Probably? Sure. There's a pair of handcuffs that probably should have already been used as the prop in an inappropriate sexual advance towards Lithuania for sure.

Ugh.]

I don't see any bullets.

[Poland hasn't looked either, but whatever.]
