seven vices week 4 28 players remaining ♫ monday - thursday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by a calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. After hearing the motive, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now a police station to the far east of the chapel. On the chapel wall near the altar, black and white portraits of Youko, Zelos, and Morrigan have been hung up. Anyone looking for them will find that Youko's pink shoes and the fragments of Zelos's crystal are now gone. >Mingle? This is Week 4's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. A Wednesday Thing

[ At 3am on Wednesday morning, every television in the hotel will turn on. What comes out is not the soft voice, but an alarm.

It rings for 5 full minutes, before they all shut off once more.

Miata is nowhere to be found during this. ]

[Laima's ears prick up; she falls immediately to her owner's side. Lithuania, meanwhile, stiffens out of some long-trained reflex. It's coming from the televisions, but-- Lithuania bursts out into the hallway.]

Is something happening?

[Hinata's covering one of his ears with a wince as he moves toward her. If anyone might know, Lithuania or Poland seem the type.]

It's an air raid siren. [Lithuania is tense enough that it's obvious she's not discounting the idea of there actually being an air raid.]

It could be an accident, or maybe something happening in the past? Or maybe outside of this void. [Errant signals from the outside world. The idea of this area being under threat is distressing, though.]

If this is actually an air raid we should be getting to a shelter, or at least somewhere away from windows and things that will easily break and low to the ground. [Since this place, last she knew, did not include a convenient air raid shelter.]

It's a warning to the general populace that they're about to face an attack from the sky.

[So says Vegeta, standing nearby and staring directly up.]

Different civilizations use different means, but it amounts to the same thing. "Pay attention, you're about to die."

[Vegeta's more used to being on the other side of this scenario.]

Of course. It's not unusual to attempt an attack from the air, since it's harder to defend and can take your enemy by surprise. A warning like this might be for someone like me, who can fly under their own power, or for someone attacking from a plane or spacecraft.

[Looks over at her.] Your people haven't developed the technology for flight yet? [The first thing any civilization does with something like that is attack someone, after all, so they probably haven't.]

He's right. I'm used to the context being bombs, but here... [Maybe the void is descending on them from above. Could be anything!]

Could be a purge, but we already would have been attacked in that case. Though it's not like we have anywhere to go, no matter how early they warn us.

[Considering Lucy has no experience with bombs from the sky she was thinking it was some bizarre magical thing like the void too.]

It could be an alarm for anything, really. Although it doesn't seem like anything is happening...

[ Screens as in TV. Bombs would be the bomb (not). ]

The sound is of an air raid siren. [She's heard it in a few different contexts.] Usually it means an attack from above.
