week 3 - investigation
![]() ♫ friday On Friday morning, everyone will wake up with all of their (warranted or unwarranted, jesus how many of y'all had shitty lives before murdertown) grief fulfilled. Whatever it is they've lost--they've found it again. Anyone heading out into the lobby will notice that the statue is gone. And that can only mean one thing. >Investigate? setting |

Mr. Break? Are you... okay now...?
( He doesn't actually hate you Mr. Bully?? Are you okay?? )
no subject
Obviously. It's just a small trifle. It looks far worse than it is.
no subject
He's a little quiet for a moment, unsure if he should accept that answer or not, )
Did you have someone else look at it?
( You know, after Break obviously checked for himself because he can totally check his own injuries in the mirror and stuff. )
no subject
Gilbert took care of it. It's not that bad, but just unpleasant to look at.
no subject
( You mean the Tall Turtle that has been avoiding Urashima lately? Ugh, well, it makes sense if he was taking care of his friend this week. Maybe he knew something like this was going to happen? The way Break keeps insisting it's not a big deal does make him worry. Even if it's a small thing physically, the week was difficult, clearly. )
Uhm... so you'll be okay, then?
( And he doesn't mean just Break's eye. There's nothing lingering too heavily? Even if the spell is broken and everyone should be free from the effects, in theory, people don't just forget feelings, )

[ Break responds cheerfully and flippantly, and he even gestures idly as an open, definitely clownish gesture. It does seem like he's not any different from normal. ]
It was just a mo~tive~. Though it's very unfortunate, it's all gone once someone dies. It's completely manufactured.
no subject
You can't fake what you feel. ( Break's logic doesn't make any sense to him. ) Maybe the reason for it wasn't real but... you still felt it. ( Otherwise Break wouldn't have done that to his eye. ) And just because the spell is broken... you can still remember why you were hurt so it's not like it's really all gone either.
no subject
Ha ha ha~! You sound very much like someone I know... He's an overly cheerful brat just like you.
[ He's completely avoiding the questions here, you may note. ]
no subject
Huh? ( What are you doing to him leave him alone... except don't because yo unever answered anything, Break! He caught onto that! He's naive, not dumb. ) Aah, stop!
I'm no turtle for you to pick on.
no subject
Hmmm~. You know, I have been wondering~! Why do you call yourself a turtle anyways?
no subject
I'm not a turtle! ( He's saying he's not a turtle! That's why you shouldn't pick on him!!! And he covers his forehead with both of his hands like it's going to save him, ) But it's because Urashima Taro saved a turtle that was being bullied in the story!
( Which he realizes probably made like zero sense to Break because apparently he can count the number of people who know the story in this place on his hands. )
... Do you know it?
no subject
Nope~. You'll have to tell it for me to understand, since I've not even heard of anything similar.
no subject
no subject
Hm? And what would that be?
no subject
( And not that Break can see but he's holding up one finger, )
If I can help you, you have to let me know. ( Turtle sword will even help the bullies... ) Ooooor~ ( two fingers ) You have to stop picking on Mr. Gilbert.
no subject
Well, considering number two is impossible, I suppose I'll have to go with the first one!
[ good luck getting break to ask for help with anything, though... #teampride ]
1/2
( Sticking his tongue out... But fine, he'll just keep protecting Tall Turtle. )
Fine. I'll tell you.

Once upon at time, a fisherman named Urashima Taro saw a group of boys picking on a small turtle. He chased them away and released the turtle back to sea. The next day, a large turtle swam up to him and told him the Dragon King wished to see him. Since he couldn't refuse an invitation from the Dragon King, he grabbed onto the turtle and they went down to his palace.
The Dragon King introduced Taro to the small turtle he had saved before and it turned into a beautiful a princess. The King thanked Taro for saving his daughter and offered to let Taro live in the palace with his daughter and all of his treasure. Taro accepted but after three days, he began to miss his family and asked to return home. The princess was sad but she relented. She summoned the large turtle that had brought Taro to her and gave him a small treasure box that he was told to never open.
When Taro went back to his village, he found that things had changed and his family was nowhere to be found. No one recognized him either! So he asked a stranger where he was and if they knew how to find his family. The stranger said everyone was dead. Taro asked if the stranger knew he was and the stranger said, "Ah, Urashima Taro disappeared three hundred years ago at sea and never returned." It was then that Taro realized three hundred years had passed even though he had only spent three years at the palace!
In his grief, he opened the box and he aged three hundred years. From the sea, he heard his princess say sadly, "Inside the box was your lost time."
