week 1 - trial; day 2

seven vices case 1 trial, day 2 ♫ sunday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. People are saying it can't be Vegeta because he wouldn't need to drug Takao-kun to overpower him so we're looking at someone who is probably weaker than Takao-kun.

Then we also thinking some how, someone had to fly at some point or something so that leaves out Youko-san and Yoite-san.

That does leave Hanyuu-chan but what makes her more suspicious than Kaguya-san?

I doubt we will need to go that far. Such an elaborate ruse would take time, making it very risky. I doubt Vegeta would have wasted his time going to such lengths for such a non-specific frame attempt...

I think we are on the right track in believing the culprit was someone much weaker than Takao.

Why bother bringing flight into it at all, if I wanted to do that?

It would limit the number of potential culprits, which would probably mean more votes for them.

It also points a bright, glaring arrow at my back. If I wanted to frame a limited number of people, I'd target people with swords or blades. That excludes me, but points to just a handful of others.

However, am I wrong that committing this murder would seem too easy for you? That alone arouses my suspicions.

The act itself would be simple for me, of course. I could break that boy's neck with one hand if I wanted to. But I wouldn't need any of the rest of it and dragging him up to the roof just implicates me when I would have no reason to. I also wouldn't need to stab him more than once with the needle, if I did decide to drug him just for the hell of it.

Honestly, the murder looks like a giant mess to me.

I think we're all pretty agreed on you, Yoite, and Youko being unlikely suspects, so unless someone has a reason to go back on that beyond "but hey, what if really one of these people we discounted did it really" I don't want to start this all over again.

Back up the accusation with a reason or leave it the Hel alone.

At this point Kaguya or Hanyuu are one of the most likely choices. However, I do recall her demonstration where she had difficulty lifting someone at first. In the case she was covering her abilities, she may have hidden that she could adjust to their weight to lift them up.

Perhaps it's just that distinction that makes myself inclined to believe it is Hanyuu over Kaguya. Although, if you believe otherwise or have a different idea entirely, I would not be against hearing it.

We found out those ( vague hands ) spirit blasts can burn a little bit! Maybe Takao-kun got hit in the head and it burned a little bit. Kaguya-san realized that would point to her so she burned the evidence.

Doubtful. Unless you are saying for some reason Kaguya drugged him and then randomly fired at him. Something about that does not make sense.
