week 1 - trial; day 2

seven vices case 1 trial, day 2 ♫ sunday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. They were speaking about mundane things, regarding their own worlds. Drinks and sports.

Do you know if Yoite noticed anything weird about Takao?

If he had he would have said so, I believe.

So he wasn't attacked beforehand at all.

So that would at least narrow down the time, but not by enough.

Everyone says they were sleeping when the murder happened. I wonder if anyone who isn't a suspect might have been awake to notice something?

Did he happen to notice if Takao seemed ill? The evidence seems to point to him making a trip to the clinic after all, and we still have yet to determine why that is.

I asked Yoite if he thought Takao looked sick and he told me no. So if we're going with the idea that Takao and the killer were together in the clinic, it could be someone asked him to go with them.

But if that were the case, why would Takao have the cough drops in his pocket? If somebody else approached him and asked for his company since they did not want to go alone, why would he bother taking anything with him?

Hm.

Maybe then he took the cough drops intending to give them to someone else. We don't know when he took them after all.

That's what I'm wondering. When we searched his room, you said that he was a particularly...considerate individual, correct? It seems just as likely that he could have been going for somebody else as it does himself.

[And then Rhys brought up what I was trying to get at a little ways down thread. But basically COUGH DROPS FOR YOITE?? Y/N?]

Yeah. Like I said, he carried Inaba up to her room without second thought when she collapsed in the kitchen before all this nonsense began. If somebody asked him to fetch medicine, I could easily see him going for it.

I don't believe it. He was too cagey when I asked for that to be all there was to it, and Takao followed him to his room. We're missing something.

Of course that's not all there is to it. However, despite your best efforts, I doubt nothing more can be gained other than what you obtained from him earlier which would be considered useful.

We are missing something, but it is not from Yoite himself.
