week 1 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 1 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? victim suspects         cast setting rulebook

Five to ten minutes. As for what happened, I'm not certain. It could be he was standing there and his killer attacked from above. In that case, the disturbance on the roof would be the killer waiting.

Do you think maybe they just got impatient when they started injecting him a ton and freaked out when it felt like it was taking so long so they bashed his head in?

I suppose under the circumstances of the week it's possible they got nervous at how long things seemed to be taking. I just feel like more of the pieces should fit together logically.

What if that's just what they want you to think.

But like. Something I really don't get is why they tried to burn things like scissors, but wanted people to find the drugs.

Although I guess even trying to burn scissors was dumb because scissors don't burn?

Mmn... Let's take it from the top. [Lithuania ticks off points on her fingers as she speaks.] As of when I found it at nine in the morning, Takao was dead for at least six hours. Blood from the head wound was frozen. Neck clearly broken, head injury broke the skull. Takao's own footprints are in the area, some of which are only half made. The snow on the roof is disturbed near where the corpse ended up on the ground. He has puncture marks on his back that went through his clothes, though it's not immediately obvious at first. He's also broken many bones. The hair on the back of his head is slightly scorched. He has cough drops on his person.

Morphine was found in the laundry room, and benadryl in the refrigerator in the kitchen. Both have been used. In the bonfire, there were burned scissors, a piece of blue polyester fabric, and some plastic. Latex gloves and one syringe are unaccounted for.

Okay well. [Poland pulls out her fingers too! And then just really starts rambling. A lot.]

So they had to know something about how drugs react-- and how to administer those drugs.

And they had to be able to get on the roof without disturbing much snow. Somehow. Unless there's a really simple way to get on the roof that we're totally missing.

And. Is it completely apparent that gravity broke him into pieces or could he have been ambushed and really pummeled?

I still don't get the fire. Or the laundry room. Or the fridge.

We know that he died either from the head wound or the broken neck, but it's not as if anyone actually saw him fall from the roof. [Things would probably be easier if someone did.] Being able to fly would be the most convenient way to get onto the roof, but some people can climb up onto it. [Undyne, for example.]

[Poland starts flipping though profiles to see if she narrow anything down at all.]

Everybody could probably get on the roof I'm guessing then... [Shape shifting... what? Poland wants to know more about that, please.]

Kaguya has a mention of poisons... but just because she's immune. [Master of cocktails of death would have been more helpful.]

And... Mm. I don't get what a lot of these things are in these profiles? Like. Danmaku and weird swords and who would ever marry Vegeta?

Gross.

Sometimes people make bad marriage decisions. [Lithuania won't elaborate.]

Miata might be able to clarify the profiles for us, if we want to be sure no one is lying about their abilities.

[Poland doesn't want to hear about "how bad of a wife she was" in front of every one. Actually she doesn't want to hear about it at all. It makes her upset!

This situation is depressing enough as it is.]

I only just started re-thinking about it!

[Poland can almost see the gears grinding against each other in Lithuania's head, but she doesn't want to talk about it!]

Maybe we just need to completely switch directions.

Like. What's the plastic thing supposed to be anyway?

Could it be part of the gloves? I'm not sure if it's hard plastic or something you could theoretically make a glove out of. Latex isn't plastic, really, but it would be hard to tell if it's just one small piece...
