seven vices week 11 ♫ monday - friday 8 players remaining Upon waking on Monday morning, you experience a short but awful bout of nausea. It's not dissimilar to the same fate one suffers when trying to remove their talisman, but an inspection will reveal that they're still on your person, safe and sound. Accompanying this will be disturbing visions--one look, and suddenly the space around you is nothing but destruction and carnage. Destroyed buildings, the heavy scent of smoke, and scattered bloodstains--even a few screams. But with a blink, the vision fades, and everything is as it should be. The possessions of last week's deceased have vanished, save for Stormfly and the Annoying Dog (the zoo grows stronger!). Anyone investigating will notice that to the far east of the schoolhouse, a library has appeared. Additionally, every locked door in the town will have unlocked at the start of this week. >Investigate? cast setting

Good idea. Those will likely take the longest to go through, along with this computer.

[He looks over to Hinata with an utterly baffled look about the "phone home" comment. Then he looks at the phone. Then back at Hinata. The phone. Hinata.]

...I am certain that such a feat would be impossible, given how outdated this particular piece of technology is.

[He doesn't understand E.T. references any more than he does Lord of The Rings!!! If only Roxy were here to appreciate his joke. Poor Hinata.]

[But he'll pick the phone up all the same, because may as well. Does it even work? What happens if he presses redial? Assuming there is a redial button at all and also that it's actually working.]

Oh... hey, I think these are Miata's.

[Turns to show Faize the skeleton shirt. It is pretty distinctive... even if it makes Hinata a little sad because man, he does miss having Lithuania around.

--Laughs when Faize doesn't get the joke, though. He doubted he would have, but that doesn't make his literal answer any less funny.]

Well, make sure you try anyway. You know, to be thorough.

[Assuming there's nothing else to be found through the clothes, he'll move down to the beds. It's rather like a room search from the last few weeks, really, pulling apart the blankets and sheets, checking the mattresses for rips or tears, and checking underneath for anything that might be hidden.]

[ There's nothing off about the beds. Just very plain, almost-threadbare cots.

As for the phone, it does have a dialtone and redial does work! But Faize will only be greeted with a "this number has been disconnected" message. ]

Yes, I remember that shirt. [HOW CAN YOU NOT.] I am not surprised this is where Miata has been staying the whole time. Really, it was the only logical conclusion.

[No dice on the phone though, darn. Though he can't say he's all that surprised, really. This is like...weird, freaky hell town stopped in time or something? Who the fuck would she be calling.]

Whomever she last called, the number has been disconnected. Unless you can think of any other useful information that can be gained from this phone, I think it is safe to consider it thoroughly checked.

[How do Ancient Earth phones work, does it have some kind of special features that he just doesn't know about? It's hard being the opposite of a ye olde. It's hard and nobody understands.]

[Okay, so let's finally check out that computer then. Does he need to actually turn it on? He will if he needs to, if not then he'll just skip that step. Either way: what greets him on the screen?]

Mm. And we have no way of knowing if Miata was trying to call someone, or... if it was from whatever happened in this town, I guess.

[But he just shrugs. He'll have to tell his "Faize phone home" joke to Roxy later, she'll definitely appreciate it.

He'll leave the computer to Faize, the other is way more equipped to deal with it than he is. And he'll skip the notebooks for now, too, moving into the bathroom to check it as thoroughly as he always does, looking for vents, weird stains, anything out of place from a regular bathroom. Maybe he can even tell how long it's been since Miata was here based on the shower/towels? Because if Miata had been here, but is clearly no longer here, then where she go.]
