week 0 - continuation
![]() ♫ tuesday - sunday With that revelation, things are sure to be more tense--or maybe, you prefer to go the hope route? Either way, the atmosphere of the town begins changing ever so subtly. Once in a while, you can feel someone staring at you from behind, though when you turn to check, no one will be there. Footsteps can also be heard echoing when one stands close to the void, even when alone....of course, no one will be there, either. As of Tuesday, extra food will be found in the kitchen. The ingredients are very based in Western cuisine: rye and wheat bread, potatoes, cabbage, beets, onions, cucumbers, assorted mushrooms, and the like are all supplied. In addition, there are also miscellaneous spices, eggs, milk, and an abundance of fish and pork. Various dishes made with the above ingredients will also be set out for anyone to take during lunch and dinner. A copy of the rulebook has been pinned to the front of the chapel, and a wooden sign now stands at the east edge of town near the clinic: Welcome to Lebensbaum | EST. 1623 | Population: ♜♜♜♜♜♜♜. The bonfire will be lit every night from 10PM to 6AM, after which it will extinguish on its own. >Mingle? This is the last open mingle for Week 0. No motives will be given until next Monday, and thus no murders will occur. Enjoy your last week of safety! When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. If you plan on having any private conversations between characters, remember to let us know in the post linked below. setting rulebook profiles private conversations |

he looks up from the pan to squint at gilbert before RIGHT yeah okay. this is kind of a lot, probably. haha oops.
everything is fine here completely. ]
Uh, yeah. Do you want any? Please take some, I think I sort of got a little pancake crazy.
no subject
Um— All right. I'll take some back with me, if that's okay.
[He'll help you clear out your mountain of pancakes, guy... But in the meantime, he'll move over to start setting up the Important Things. Might as well ask:]
Do you want any coffee?
no subject
and then he's offered coffee! he just sort of stares blankly at gilbert for a moment before grinning. ]
Oh man, yeah. I completely forgot about coffee!
[ it's been a stressful few days. ]
no subject
But there's a little nod from him, and while he doesn't exactly smile back, his expression softens somewhat. It's like some sort of Mutual Understanding between people who need coffee to function.]
Do you take yours black? [If there's a French press in here, that's absolutely what he's using, so it'll be Darker Than Black if that's his pick.]
no subject
[ so they can. STAY AWAKE. just give him something bitter even though he probably usually takes it with milk and sugar. this is the most boring weenie 3 am thing ever to happen in murdertown.
which means obviously, after a few moments where rhys puts another pancake on the pile and starts a new one, he has to ask something. ]
Do you think it's actually going to happen? Like, we're actually going to start killing each other?
no subject
All right. [ONWARD, to make two cups of deliciously bitter coffee.
The question gives him pause, though.]
...I hope not. [But he's also not pure Urashima or Alisha, so.] We have some hotheaded people here, but they seemed more against the game itself, right?
no subject
Which means they get punished. Get punished, forced to play the game, kill everyone? I'm more concerned about the quieter ones. I don't really want to die but if it means survival, people might go a little crazy.
no subject
Maybe. Er... I guess there are a few quiet people here. [But which one of them is the CROUCHING MURDERER, HIDDEN MCSTABBINS??] I haven't noticed anyone particularly dangerous, but that's kind of dangerous, too.
[Being lulled into a sense of complacency, he means... ANYWAY, here's a mug of coffee comrade. Gilbert pours himself one, too, and immediately takes a sip that burns his tongue because he's a moron and desperate for caffeine.]
no subject
Exactly. If we're all just normal people, then we're definitely going to turn on each other quicker. [ okay "normal people" but like, vegeta. ] If you're already used to killing, you're probably less prone to freaking out about it.
[ oh bless you, gilbert. rhys takes the coffee gratefully and takes a sip of it, sighing. now he can stay awake forever. like a healthy individual! ]
no subject
...Probably. [Says Gilbert, the state-sanctioned assassin who threw up about dead people a lot before he got #hardcore.] But I don't think there are too many people like that here...?
[Or so he hopes?! Ah, maybe they just gathered up a whole game full of stabbers.]
no subject
but wow, gilbert. get it... together?! or something. ]
Yeah. Probably not. [ . . . ] Or maybe there is? I'm not sure which is the better option, actually.
[ just... grimacing. and to be fair, rhys has never murdered anyone directly. sure, he killed thousands of people once to save his own skin but he didn't do it directly. ]
