[ If anything, that answered it. Not that Dhaos was listening in or expecting anything else. But most humans deep down were selfish in general, why would this be any different? ]

You're awfully protective of her. Why is that?

You've seen what I am on my card. Miata is my citizen. [This may be the first time she's said it so plainly out loud.]

Then you expect me to accept that she is aiding our kidnappers because of this? Regardless of her circumstances?

I expect you to regard her potential circumstances, because none of us know what may be held over her head or what the consequences of her disobedience might be.

[dhaosu]

You expect me to believe that she may be in such a position, indeed. And let us pretend that I do believe this.

[ Let's be real, Dhaos does have an inkling concerning this human's circumstances as well. ]

However, do you expect me to be alright with the fact that she is aiding our kidnappers, whether or not she is being forced to? In that case, it merely comes to the fact that she is weighing her life or others against our own. I understand why you would wish to be protective of her, considering your nature.

But I cannot see how that benefits any of us if she is not able to fight back against those holding us captive. We will not come to an agreement on this matter unless something changes regarding these circumstances.

[Poland's wagging her finger warningly.]

[ He doesn't say anything. ]

I mean it.

[She's serious.]

[dhaosu]

I am fine with discontinuing the conversation if she so wishes it.

[ And that is all he has to say. ]

( Just going to come over and take one of Dhaos' hands. )

[ He didn't realize how tense he was until Urashima does so, starting a bit at that, and then he turns his attention to the other. He wants to give his gratitude to him in words for the action, but decides his fingers wrapping around the one that held his own would do. ]

( He'll give Dhaos a small, reassuring smile! Shh, now isn't the time to judge people, Dragon King and Miata isn't the right person to judge either. )

[ Perhaps not. He doesn't know whether to smile or not, though. But the haze of anger and frustration has passed, although unfortunately not the pain. Still, he feels a little bad now. ]

... It seems I got caught up in the moment, hmm?

Mhm! Just a little.

( He's honest, okay... but at least he doesn't sound like this is a bad thing? )

[ Dhaos appreciates the honesty-- it's better than a lie. He remembers thinking back to the moment, frustrated Miata couldn't do anything, but being angry at someone who was just as powerless as they all were did not help. He knows naturally some were righteous about it. ]

You do not sound too angry about it. Or... bothered too much. Why is that?

Because I know why you're mad. ( Even if it's not exactly the same reason Dhaos was thinking about at the time, heh. ) And I can understand.

( He's pretty frustrated by all of this too but he'll keep those thoughts to himself for now. He needs some time to figure them out. )

I see...

[ Dhaos tries to figure out words for a bit, but there is a warm, nice feeling for a second, even though surely the situation was not ideal. This time, he does wish to give his gratitude properly. ]

You truly are a reliable companion. Once again, I can only thank you.

[ He wants to believe some-how they can also figure this whole situation out. Someday, before it's too late. ]

( Wow, is that praise? Because Urashima sure is a spoiled sword spirit who loves that a lot. Being reliable is an especially good compliment for a sword spirit! He opens his mouth to say something-- probably something along the lines of "you're welcome" or "it's no problem!" at first but instead, he starts to smile. He's practically glowing right now, clearly very proud of himself but a little embarrassed because he's proud! But he's also humble. )

Heh heh... thanks. ( For the compliment. ) It's nothing.

[ It was nice having someone who understood. He didn't just leap to conclusions or self-righteously offer his own opinion, either. Dhaos knew he wasn't being reasonable in his anger, but the way Lithuania went about it and then those other two jumping in didn't help matters.

It's only because of Urashima that Dhaos does think about trying to understand Miata more. It truly is the little things that matter in the end. He won't forget this. ]
