week 5 - day 2 trial

seven vices case 5 trial, day 2

sunday

At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying.

Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries.

The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells.

At 6PM, the trial will adjourn, after which everyone is expected to have cast their votes.

If I were going to throw someone to the wolves in a murder plot, it would not be an animal, or someone who resembles one. It would be a human. You, Cheshire, and Ranulf would never, ever take the blame for something I did. Everyone else is fair game. But not animals.

[Satori says this with a quiet sort of anger.]

Oh...really? [Okay well like 99% of the people she knows back home are based off some sort of animal, so she really can't fault that line of thinking.]

In that case, Papyrus and Sans should count as animals too! Papyrus even plays fetch automatically when you throw a stick at him! [skeletons...animals...same thing]

Their skeletal structure is reminiscent of a human's. They don't count.

...Human-like youkai like Urashima don't count, either, but he has a turtle waiting for him, so I would at least feel bad about it if it happened to be him I was backstabbing.

[This is fine???]

They don't look anything like humans! Sans resembles a sloth more than anything else. [how else do you explain a chubby skeleton]

Hmm...what if I told you pretty much every monster Underground resembles some kind of animal? So they've got plenty waiting for them back home too! [except not really because Undyne is Papyrus's only (non-human) friend....]

I see enough corpses in my daily life that I know what human skeletons look like.

Your Underground sounds much like my own, though...like a good place to live.

[At least it sounds like her own underground mansion??? All the animals are there.]
