week 4 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 4 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? victim   suspects      cast setting rulebook

I'm... not going to say don't worry. I think that's impossible. But... I'm going to do my best to clear your name. I think almost all of us want to reach the truth more than anything, so as long as we keep moving forward with that in mind... there's no way you'll be in danger.

Um... if it'll make it a little easier, though, do you... want to hang out again tonight? So you're not stuck worrying all alone.

I would not mind your companionship again. However...given that my room was just searched a while ago, presumably quite thoroughly, [Since why else would they have been gone for like a fucking hour?] I am not certain I will find it in the best state for that.

[...Okay, he can't help but laugh quietly and a little helplessly at that, nodding and taking a sip from his tea.]

I would certainly appreciate not having to tidy up my room before being able to sleep. [He is so tired already and they're only halfway through with this bullshit. He may have put a whole lot of extra effort into his symbology demonstration earlier specifically so that he'd be able to fall asleep more quickly.] So I believe I will take you up on that offer.

[And that night, Faize hid a blood knife under Hinata's mattress and got away with murder. ;)]

Maybe when this is all over... we can get a few of the others together for a real sleepover. We could invite, I don't know... Roxy, Clover, Poland and Lithuania, Urashima, Alisha...

[Faize's eyes miiiiiight widen a little when Hinata says Alisha's name. Just a bit. Could be Hinata's imagination though.]

I would not be opposed to such a gathering but...that seems to be rather something of a disproportional group, as far as gender goes. You may have a hard time convincing everyone you just listed.

Well... there's not much helping that. Yoite doesn't seem like the type, and all the other guys are... you know.

[Not... teens. He doesn't want a chaperoned party ugh, how lame. Lithuania is already enough of one thanks??

His smile might widen a little more at Faize's reaction, though... maybe it's his imagination. That's the kind of thing they can discuss at the sleepover, like a proper sleepover.]

I'll talk to them and find out. I mean... with everything that's happening here, I can't help but feel like... something like this can only help strengthen our bonds. That's what I think, anyway.

...too old? [Hinata said sleepovers were something young Earthlings did, right? He'd question Urashima and the nations being included in that but the nations at least look like teens and...well. Urashima...]

I suppose asking would not hurt, however. Though if that is the case, perhaps you should extend the invitation to everyone else in the appropriate age bracket as well. [You know like Astrid, Yoite, Inaba... Hanyuu? Lucy? Cheshire? Bud-- yeah no, she wouldn't.]

Yeah. I don't think they'd want to hang out with a bunch of kids. I usually wouldn't think Lithuania would want to, either, but I feel like if I invite Poland, I'd have to invite Lithuania, you know? And I can't not invite Poland, because even if she doesn't want to go, if I don't at least try to invite her...

[Ugh. Let's not go down that road, shall we?]

But yeah, I'll do that. I'm sure there's a couple who wouldn't be interested, but... if it's even a few people who show up, I think it's worth it.
