week 4 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 4 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? victim   suspects      cast setting rulebook

( Urashima's made faces for most of the trial! Look, he isn't happy about being a suspect again, okay and he's doubly not happy about the trial in general. What kind of jerk would do play around with a murder like this?!

When it's over, Urashima will head back to the hotel and stop in front of it, looking down the street towards the police station. He's just thinking for a moment. )

Hinata's going to approach from the side, though, making sure Urashima can see him coming so he doesn't get startled.]

( He sees Hinata coming and greets him with a smile, )

Hmm... good! We didn't do a lot today, though.

( So there really wasn't a lot of reason to worry. )

[Ugh... he's letting Selena down as protag.]

I'm glad you're still keeping your positive outlook after all this.

Well, I know it wasn't me so I don't have to worry if I can prove it, right?

So I just have to prove myself and help find Miss Selena's killer.

[He can't help but offer a small smile and a nod.]

Yeah, that's the right attitude to have. As long as we all do our best and keep searching for the truth... it's the best way to honor Selena's memory, I think.

Mhm, and it's important to make sure we catch the one who did this too. Nothing good can come from changing the past so we need to stop them before something worse happens them too.

( Implying death is better than dealing with the consequences of tampering with fate?? Yes. )

[Time for the killer to take their mask off and reveal they were Spain all along...

BUT-- Gilbert will stop when Urashima does, brow knitting a little. It must be ridiculously stressful, being a suspect so soon after Mikazuki's trial, and he's understandably concerned.]

...Were you able to eat anything today?

( It is me. I am Spain. )

Hm? ( It is stressful and he would be lying if he said he wasn't nervous at all but considering he hasn't really been given a reason to worry today, he just smiles at Gilbert and nods, ) I ate a little bit during the trial. I was going to eat something later today too.

[GOD ESKI, why.

Gilbert also looks a little concerned, but "a little" is better than the nothing it was last time.]

Something a little more substantial than toast?

( It was going to be toast. )

...If you think you can stomach something a little heavier, I'll make you a sandwich or something.

[ Dhaos catches Urashima just as he was about to enter into the hotel, pausing in his step. ]

Is there something on your mind?

[minogame]

Well... ( He glances down the sidewalk and back, ) I was just wondering why she was there...

[dhaosu]

[ ... ]

Yes. Since it's clear she went willingly with the killer...if anything I surmised she was lead into doing some activity with glitter. Perhaps to spice up the police station in the same way the school-house was.

[ It's unfortunate they can't really tell for sure...but he has been wondering about it. ]

So late at night, though? I've been thinking about that... it must have been a really good reason for her to leave her room.

At first the killer could have conjured up a tale. Perhaps that they were in some sort of distress or required assistance with something. She does not seem the type to ignore someone's plight.

So they tricked her because she's a good person...?

[dhaosu]

I thought about it as a possibility. Or they could have staged some sort of elaborate trick that could have nothing to do with her generosity.
