week 4 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 4 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? victim   suspects      cast setting rulebook

[ Dhaos actually thinks those colors look nice together--especially the pink and purple. He also does not have the greatest fashion sense, however. ]

Perhaps not. Rhys is the greatest offender of them all, as per usual, however.

It'll be worse when he's a suspect. [ But he'd much prefer if he was a victim instead...

There's not that much else to search, but Yoite will be checking to see if Break's used any of the paper in the provided notepad.]

[ There's actually something in the safe! Sitting in there is a ugly, somewhat horrifying doll, since Break doesn't bring Emily to the trials now that he has her. Based on the fact she's in the safe, it seems like Emily is important to him. Underneath is a folded note. The outside only says "Lady Sharon," but in very messy, almost illegible handwriting. The handwriting itself isn't so bad, but the letters overlap or are unevenly spaced, and are skewed at an odd angle because Break can't see what he's writing. This is probably why there's only one note. Does Dhaos open it?

As for the notepad, there's exactly one sheet that's clearly been torn out. Considering the note in the safe, it's safe to assume that it was that. ]

[ Dear Norn have mercy. He is secretly being horrified at the doll however briefly. He then moves to open the note, to see whatever the heck the guy wrote here?? What even, Break? ]

...I believe I may have located something, Yoite. Whether it will be of important remains to be seen...

[He takes note of the missing page before moving to where Dhaos is.]

There's a page missing from the notepad.

[ The inside is just as similarly difficult to read, but it seems like this was important enough for Break to make an effort to try. ]

Just in case something happens to me, I want you to know something that I should have said while I had the chance. You have always been at my side, so I did not realize it, but you became a very strong woman. Your mother would be proud of you. It is presumptuous, but I would like to think I am even prouder.

I have always been happy to be at your side. Please continue to be the sort of warm, strong person you have always been.

More than I can ever convey in this note, I want to thank you and your family for that gentle light of hope you have always had.

[ This reminds him of Morrigan's note in a way, but it feels so personal that he is a bit ashamed for looking at it. He carefully refolds it before inserting it back into safe, and released a sigh.

It doesn't look like the floorboards or loose either, but he always double-checks for those. Regardless, he folds his arms. ]

It appears that there is nothing to be located here. Although, we did certainly try. That page missing likely is likely this very note.
