week 4 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |
Faize's Room
So. What does it look like from the doorway?]
no subject
[As for the room itself: it's predictably neat and tidy. Both beds are made and, perhaps most importantly, separate, just as Hinata said. Sorry to burst your sexy elf kink dreams. The doors into both the closet and bathroom are closed. There are a few pads of paper on the bedside table, as well as three bottles of alcohol and a couple bagged snacks from the general store next to the TV, but other than that, nothing that immediately stands out.]
[Have at, ladies.]
no subject
But actually she's going to the closet first because she's pretty sure everyone keeps their secrets in the closet. She'll be examining clothes for any bloodstains or tackiness, please don't disappoint!! ]
God, this is so boring.
no subject
[Oh the beds are apart.
Bummer.]
...Although probably not. [Poland's going to investigate his snacks-- eating some if they're good. Then start reading the pads of paper on his bedside table.]

[All the clothes in the closet are 100% bloodstain free, sorry to disappoint there. But there may be hope for tackiness still. Aside from the uniform he arrived in, it seems to consist solely of dress shirts, sweater vests, and sweaters, all of which have been separated and organized by type. Everything is in various shades of cool or neutral colors, with minimal patterning. There are couple of pairs of boots too, but they're about as exciting as anything else in here. If she checks the safe as long as she's in there, she'll find nothing inside.]
[The pads of paper are more of the spaceship blueprints and complicated formulas that Poland saw him working on back in week one. Only there are a whole lot more now, perhaps this is some kind of comping method. Who can really say for sure. If she looks inside the drawer on the table, she'll find a folded up piece of white construction paper, Faize's copy of the profile notebook, pens, and a few blank notepads.]
[So...the juiciest secret they've found so far is that the alien kid has a secret sweet tooth. Exciting.]

Sadie is looking disgusted over these horribly boring clothes. What's wrong with this guy? ]
Hey, you wanna give Faize a makeover when this is done? [ Look, it's a vote of confidence from her. Also she's going to casually take out the uniform and just dump it in one of the garbage cans.
Now she's moving onto the bathroom! She'll check the sink, toilet, shower for any suspicious Wetness. ]
no subject
Um. Yes. He needs one.
[Poland looks at the construction paper for a little bit. It's not red though. So she'll abruptly lift up his mattresses to check under them, checking the seams for any rips he might have shoved something into.]
no subject
[There's no suspicious wetness in the bathroom! No suspicious anything, really. It's just a bathroom.]
[But no, the construction paper is not red, nor is it folded into fun shapes. Apparently he does not yet know the secret art of origami because it's just folded over several times into a square. Like how you would fold up a note to pass it in class or something.]
[The mattresses are free of rips or tears, and there's nothing hidden under either of them. No weird alien porn or anything, though that's probably less surprising now that his designation has been confirmed not to be sexual in nature. There's nothing in between the sheets either. Though close examination of the pillows will reveal a few stray green hairs on the one from the bed closest to the door, and a few short, brown hairs on the one from the bed closest to the window. Confirming Hinata's earlier statement about who slept in which bed.]
no subject
[ When she notices Poland examining the beds, though, she gets an idea. ] How about we do one of those experiments everyone likes doing? Like, I take a nap and you try to sneak out to murder someone and we see if it wakes me up.
[ An amazing plan. ] Or we could leave.
no subject
[Because Poland isn't in any actual rush to go back to sitting in that stuffy chapel with Lithuania.
Let's just chill in Faize's room for an hour. Poland doesn't think he did it anyways.]
no subject
[As for the blood...wouldn't you like to know? :) Maybe he's a vampire space elf wizard.]
no subject
Maybe if we think about the room a little more, we'll find something. [ By thinking she means sleeping. ]
no subject
Or at least something else that is ashy?
Eventually she just grabs a bottle of alcohol and flops onto the opposing bed.]
He's not dumb enough to leave something incriminating in a bedroom he knew we were going to search anyways.
no subject
[So he's either a very innocent victim of a frame job or a very clever killer who's good at covering his tracks. Who can say for sure at this point.]
no subject
[ Kicking the covers off the bed. Just because. ] We should start making it totally random. Like, one week we search the rooms. Another week we don't. The killers won't have any idea when to hide their evidence.
no subject
I mean.
They could hide stuff on their body day one when we're searching the rooms. Then hide it in their room on day two when we're searching their bodies?
It's all so pointless.
no subject
Maybe when we get back, we should do a strip search on him. Like, total surprise.
no subject
You think? [Poland's kinda iffy on strip searching.
Namely on herself. But.]
no subject
Well, we can always give him a pat-down. I think people mostly look for bruises and stuff on the strip searching, but like, we can just punch him in a few places and see if it hurts. [ They can revolutionize the system. ]
no subject
...
I do wanna touch his ears though.
no subject
no subject
But not yet.
[Poland takes a swig out of her bottle. That chapel sucks she's never going back. For an hour at least.]
no subject
Okay, wake me up when... it gets dark or something. [ And so they never returned to the trial again. ]
