week 4 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 4 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? victim   suspects      cast setting rulebook

[Isn't the fact that he can apparently use this potentially a bad thing??? Faize regains his cool composure after a moment though. Deep breath. Dhaos did not deserve that little temper flare up there.]

[ Dhaos doesn't think any of the suspects used the tome, so he doesn't think of it as a bad thing. But perhaps others may not think the same...

He pauses at the outburst, there, though. But, hey. ]

Simply because you can use magic-- regardless of which element you have control over. As it is, however, I do not personally believe any of those... suspected had a chance to use the tome themselves.

[Surprise, Faize is indeed capable of feeling anger. Amazing. If only took him four weeks to finally let that really show.]

Yes it...would indeed make the most sense for Selena to have used it. For some reason or another.

[He still looks worried though. Probably because this kind of makes him look like a liar since he LITERALLY JUST SAID HE COULDN'T USE THE TOME maybe like twenty minutes ago.]

[ For a second, his expression seems to shift-- it is still cold and business-like but a tad bit softer. ]

... You seemed concerned. [ Which is obvious, but-- ] Do you believe someone will cast the blame in your direction for this? Or...?

We still have yet to determine exactly how events between Selena and the killer transpired. So long as there is doubt in that regard, this fact that I am capable of using this does me little favor.

[He shifts a little, seemingly hesitant to say more.]

And it...makes me look like a liar. I just told Alisha and Astrid a short while ago that my symbology works differently. And that I would be incapable of using this tome.

True, although once again I am sure of Selena utilizing that tome, as you are. I can only hope that more discussion would bring that scenario to light.

[ He crosses his arms. ]

You did not know...surely that does not make you a liar. I figured it would work in your case due to you being capable of casting spells. That said, if someone does intend to use that to shift blame your way, I will take their word with a grain of salt.
