week 4 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 4 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? victim   suspects      cast setting rulebook

[ A REALLY SAD ONE, HONESTLY. no one ever says nice things to him. ever.

rhys does look surprised and then reach up to grab the hat. oh right. ]

Oh! Uh. I kind of forgot about it. I should... take it off, right? I should take it off.

[ awkwardly taking it off now. he's kind of sad about it tbh ]

[ Is this how Lucy felt when she tried to throw his lint away? ... don't make that face, it's Too Sad.

Ranulf closes his eyes for a minute. ] You don't have to. [ And he'll go for a smile. And take the hat. ] Sure, I was curious about it, but if you like it then you should keep it on. Besides, it doesn't look half bad on you.

[ He does kind of have to admit that Rhys wears it well... or... maybe that it looks fitting on Rhys? He isn't sure if it's in a good way but whatever. He'll put it on top of Rhys' head regardless. Here, you can wear your weird hat, Rhys. ]

[ he's. not quite sure how to react to this, huh. welp.

so yeah, he just awkwardly nods and leaves the stupid hat on his head because apparently this is a thing that is happening.

at least it doesn't say "dunce". ]

You're welcome. [ Yes... this was an event that occurred. It transpired much in the same way as any other event that would, thanks to the passage of time, inevitably come to pass. Occurrences. Happenings. Yeah.

... Why does this feel so awkward? Rhys, you're going to give him a headache. He doesn't know how to handle these fidgety types. Sigh. ]

Anyway, there's a trial to get on with. Dhaos seems awfully set on finding as much as he can today so I don't think he'd appreciate us standing around like this.
